Sometimes the Christian voices are so diverse as to make their versions of reality cancel one another out. So who should we tune out, and who should we listen to?

(Some examples to draw from: Rev. Pat Robertson? Rev. Welton Gaddy? Rev. Robert Schuller? Rev. Fred Phelps? Rev. Jesse Jackson?)

I know some denominations believe that we have do do works, such as penance, to get full forgiveness. They believe that works play a role in salvation. In remaining saved. I say this belief says that the blood of Jesus is not enough. That His sacrifice was not enough to save us. We must add to it. I say this belief makes Jesus' sacrifice worthless and is the greatest of heresies. What say you?

I have very unique spiritual/religious views, and plan to write a book. What do you think about the title? Would it catch your eye?

Atheists and other doubters are welcome to comment, but your negative responses have no effect upon me other than to encourage me to continue on my path. Unlike most people, I know what I believe and am very confident and comfortable with my faith. I find truth within myself and through my experiences...not in a book or sermon. Attack me or learn from me, the former will mire you deeper in your ignorance and the latter will benefit you.

This is the first time I've seen an article about this sort of thing. Recently there was an issue with displaying a pentacle on a tombstone for a Wiccan vet.

Now someone thought it was funny to put a witch effigy in a noose and hang it from a tree - in Salem.

Not the fantasy warty nose witch, an effigy wearing old Salem time clothes and a woman.

There is something strange in the air in America. These sorts of things seem isolated but when put together they are starting to show a trend.

Take the Jena 6 thing for example. What's going on these days?

does anyone know if Yahoo has been contacted by your cult lawyers yet?
I know there are other total free speech religion bashing websites out there, but apparently you have noticed that Yahoo Answer's has huge coverage and gives any single user mass coverage of their issues publicly on Google and other search engines. Giving you, as an origination a bad rap, sometimes,
Here's one to cut and paste for the governing body, or your lawyers.

Mosiah 2:17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.

Just wondering what people think when they read this?

My ancestors were Jewish from my dad's side, and were forced to convert to Christianity during the spanish inquistion. I have always had a special interest in the Jewsih culture and religion. Not so long ago I found out about my ancestors [not to mention all the crap and persecution they had to put up with ever since they were slaves in Sicily] and I felt even more interested in the Jewsih culture, I really like it and might someday convert to Judaism but could I identify myself as jewish? I know in orthodox judaism you are only jewish if your mother is jewish but jews are decendents of Abraham and since my ancestors were jewish aren't I a decendent of Abraham? And then I have heard I am jewish but not by religion [or yet anyway] so I'm confused, It's very sad that because of anti-semitism I'm not jewish. And most of my family is Christian so they had told me about Jesus and what not but that never made sence to me [though perhaps that has nothing to do with the jewish ancestry].

then you can just make sure that you yourself marry someone of the opposite gender? You don't have to make a big deal or a law out of it. You can just marry someone of the opposite gender. If your church doesn't like gay marriage, fine, don't allow them to be married in your church. That's your religious right, but you don't have to make a law that says that no one else can marry homosexuals.

I mean, if you want to make laws based on your religious beliefs, (especially ones that you say you're freed from) do you realize what kind of country you would create? Would you want to have to live by a Kosher diet? How about no one and no thing working on the Sabbath?

Wouldn't it be better to just practice what you believe personally, instead of making everyone else subject to religious belief? After all, it isn't like you all agree on what your god wants anyway (examples, do you have to speak in tongues to have the holy spirit? Do you have to be baptized? Can you divorce?).

First of all I am too a Christian. I believe everything the bible says is true which it is. Anyway where do you think God literally came from. I know the bible says he has always been, but did'nt he come from somewhere? Where did that come from? Maybe we just cannnot simply answer this til we are in heaven and can ask God ourselves but I just want to know what you think. Someone told me that somewhere in the bible it refers to God coming from a land of Nad???

Kind of a convoluted approach, isn't it? You prove every step of what you say, but I don't have to prove anything.

A reminder that the Bible is just the ravings of various people and doesn't prove anything.
