Two consenting adults who love eachother.

IMO, marriage should be defined as a LEGAL contract between at least two unrelated adults who love each other, whether they are different or the same sexes. Religion should have nothing to do with deciding who can or cannot marry whom.

Why in the world would people want to call it marriage if it goes against Biblical standards. Call it anything else...domestic union, but, don't call it marriage. That is a slap in God's face. You claim that it is so you can have the same legal and financial status as a marriage. Do the same with domestic union, but please do not call it marriage. Mmm

According to the bible it is the union between man and wife.Good enough for the bible it's good enough for me.I have no problem with civil unions I suppose...just don't call it a marriage. Because by definition it ain't.
Also, why are there so many people out here pushing for those of us who do not want gay marriages to have to accept it? My outlook is, what you do in your bedroom is your business. I don't wish to hear about it or be subject to giving a dissertation on my approval or disapproval of it. I should not have to know at all who or what you sleep with. That is between you and God and I have my own vast and varied sins to be forgiven of.
You need not hide in the closet. Simply leave the intimate details at home. Then I wont feel obligated to disappoint anyone with my distaste for your preference.I certainly would not tell you what my husband and I do and then wonder why I should be offended by your opinion of it.

Godbotno, Cheeky did not say anything about people marring someone who have no love for each other, yes it is true that people sometimes get married and "fall out of love" there are many things that people can do and one of those things is CHANGE! sometimes that is for the worst and they separate. You act as if that can not happen in a homosexual relationship, but you are wrong. I know people who that has happened with. I think the biggest concern for the church is that they do not want any discrimination lawsuits by people who are trying to force them to go outside of their code of ethics and perform ceremonies that are not God ordained in the first place. Lets not also forget that there are people who prefer animals so should they get married too?

Marriage was instituted by God in a dignified and particular way, for a particular high purpose.

Anything else is NOT marriage, and it never will be.

Quit trying to twist words, and just get over it.

I would say man and a woman, but for others that is different, and if they wanted to be gay or lesbian, I wouldn't throw the Bible at them, even though I'm not crazy about the idea...

in the religious sense yes only a man and woman, but in the sense of government people should be free to choose who they are married to. its a free country so i think you can marry whoever you want....as long as it isnt like incest or anything.
