Just sitting up there in Heaven, on his throne, with nothing to do?

2007-10-15 15:53:14 · 12 answers · asked by Darth Nihilus 5

This year has been one major foul up after another. I have tried to hold my head up and look on the bright side, but I honestly don't think I can anymore. I just want to throw my hands up and say, "I give up. You win. I can't do this anymore, I give up." Is this some kind of test from God? Is He trying to tell me something? Can someone enlighten me?

People can't afford to be Catholic!
This is the problem. Our church was run by the same priest for years. Eveyone Loved him, he was kind and was very concerned about the childrens Catholic education, especially since this chrch is in an urban low income setting with many immigrant famlies.
When he left a new priest came, but now he is charging money for everything.
To say Mass on Quinceneras he is charging 300 dollars, and 100 dollor per each alter boy. we used to just give what we could in donation or not pay at all.

Next he is charching 200 dollars for conformation class. I got it for free and whatever donations I could afford with the old priest. Now the children cannot afford to be confirmed,

and the class scheduale is ridiculous. Instead of just sundays he is expecting people to come on week days. People here are low income and even the teenagers work to contribute to the house hold.

I'm an teenage atheist, born a Christain. I don't believe in God for the same reason I don't believe in Zeus, it doesn't make any sense. I doubt you can change my mind, but I think its best to give it a shot.

There are so many other flaws in their arguments that I don't think we need to focus on their spelling. Besides, by Jebus, I think it's kinda cute and endearing when they don't spell it correctly. ;-)

Do we think about God's grace on us? Do we love God's for what he created us? Do we think that we were just a drop of sperm? How he created us when we were nothing? Do we think that how's he great and powerful?
Are we grateful to him? What do we do for his sake? Do we think despite we forgot about him and his grace on us he never denies his assistance? He created us, he gave us everything what we need, he forgives us for our sins, bu we are ignoble man.

As a Wiccan, I know that it's a combination between my personal experiences and logic that makes me think that Wicca is the right path for me. What makes it resonate for you? Have you had a profound magickal experience? Please share it.

Promise not to "report": you regardless of opinion expressed.

I mean although you might have the strongest of faiths, it is precisely that, faith. You don't KNOW you're right. And atheists, you might be pretty convinced, but you don't KNOW there's no God. So when push comes to shove, aren't we all agnostics really?

I am not here to argue with Christians who believe That Jessus has already paid for their sins and as long as they ask for forgivness in His name they will be pardoned of all sins committed.Even if this belief is correct, do u not think that such thinking should be at least down played a lot as it encourages crime? I mean prisons are full of criminals who have no remorse and gangs roam around with big heavy crosses around their necks.
Especially more noticeable in Latino 2nd and subsequent generations. Again I am not here to knock Christianity but just alarmed at all these nuts who seem to think they have a win win foolproof system who are screwing up civilisation.

I say that Genesis 1:25 makes this impossible.

Gen 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Even a slight change is a difference in "kind". Of course, for me this means the Bible is wrong. Does someone see a way of understanding this verse that reconciles it with evolution? And none of this false distinction between so called micro and macro evolution, since these terms are generally not accepted by scientists any more - biologists see this as all one process.

scared to do this, scared to do that cause Satan will punish them.
Don't you have common sense and know right from wrong?
It's common sense to treat people fairly and the way you want to be treated, respect your parents and not to lie, steal, kill others...right,
RIGHT????? Why do you need Satan to scare you into not doing those kind of things?

We know that Jesus told us to love everybody. He didn't specify only one kind of person worthy of His love. Our duty as Christians is to love everybody. (John 13:34, John 13:35, John 15:12, John 15:17, just to scratch the surface.)

So if a gay or lesbian person came to your church and wanted to participate, but did not see a need to change or hide his/her sexuality, would that person be excluded from experiencing Jesus's love through your church?

So if a woman who was planning on getting an abortion came to your church, would she be excluded?

Who would your church exclude? Is your church only for the "righteous"?

when you ask them WHY WERE THEY DISFELLOWSHIPPED, or why was their loved one disfellowshipped, they are suddenly hush mouth and reclusive? They boast and brag about how they hate Jehovah's Witnesses and "the truth" so much after their disfellowshipping, but then they never want to state why they were disfellowshipped in the first place?

From my experience it appears that they know the reason for their being disfellowshipped was valid and was so egregious, but they get so angry, fully of revenge and distain, that they never repent against the reason for their being disfellowshipped, yet instead turn bitter and even more wicked than the initial reason for their being removed.

Do you think they don't understand that they didn't receive just one warning, but several, yet they would not heed the counsel from the elders so ultimately they were disfellowshipped? You'd think they would say to themselves: "Wow, I'd better clean my act up as not to bring uncleanliness to the congregation

In 2005, Pope Benedict was facing a lawsuit accusing him of conspiring to cover up the sexual molestation of three boys by a seminarian. So, he asked Bush to grant him immunity from lawsuits in the U.S. And of course, Bush granted it.

If he had nothing to worry about, why did he need immunity?

If you are curious about this, you should rent "Deliver us from Evil" ... it's about the Catholic church's cover-up of hundreds of child molestation cases in the US.
