Well, I'm not Wicca per se, more a Celtic path eclectic - I'm currently working on exploring further, I'm interested in Celtic Shamanism and perhaps a blend of that with Druid reconstructionism / with traditional Wiccan elements...lol sounds a mess, I know, but there's some interesting paralells.
For me, where I'm at has been a very deep and personal journey I started about 3 years ago when I finally recovered from a lethal dose of Christian fundamentialism that had been administered during my childhood. So I've followed what resonates within as "right" not what someone else tells me is "right" for me.
Sure, I've had a few experiences - but I'd hardly call them spectacular, Harry-Potterish style "magick". They're more of an intensely personal, powerful confirmation I'm on the right track. They're not the kind of thing I'd typically share with a stranger, but suffice it to say, yes, I have had experiences and I know I'm on the right path of my journey.

Wicca simply makes more relevant sense to me. I explored MOST of the other Religions, including ALL 3 of the Jehovist Religions. In Wicca, we are walking around IN God's house every single moment of our existence. With the Jehovists, the universe is viewed as apart from that and they seem to feel that the universe exists for OUR pleasure, abuse and "dominion". In Wicca the universe IS God's house and is to be nurtured, loved and cared for in its OWN right. The Mainstream Religions seem to be concentrating MOSTLY on some future "Nirvana" and place of eternal beauty where there is NO suffering. In wicca, WE believe that is completely possible here and now. All we have to do is recognize that to be so and respond accordingly with proper respect and love for the universe.
My path was NOT chosen by ME. Quite the opposite, IT chose ME. I was raised as a Christian but was constantly having to work hard and FORCE Christianity to fit MY view of existence. With Wicca, I no longer have to do that as Wicca ALREADY fits that viewpoint. ALL I need to do is meditate and let Goddess and God reveal to me what needs to be done, and then, do it.
To the poster about the Magick, Magick is NOT about the "Hocus Pocus" kind of stuff. Magick is about using our spirituality to effect changes in the world around us. It's NOT going to be all GRAND and spectacular "special Effects" it's going to be more subtle changes and changes that take time to become apparent. Nothing in Magick is Grandiose and immediate. If you seek "special Effects' then rent the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Real Magick is nothing like that at all.

I am Wiccan for a number of reasons.
1) I had what I interpreted as a personal encounter with the Divine Feminine, which led me to investigate theism again after years of quite contented atheism.
2) When I started looking at different belief systems, Wicca struck me as being the most beautiful (in my opinion), the one with the ethical system closest to the one I already had, and a religion that I could live with intellectually.
3) Through the patterns of Wiccan ritual, I feel that I am taking part in a process that is both artistic and spiritual, which is very satisfying for me.

Blood calls.
Mine did.
And besides...when Frigga says something one tends to listen LOL
I don't do circles, I don't do magic. Hel I don't even do rune work. It's a path, a way of life, a religion and a call to the gods. There isn't a doubt in my mind.

It was a calling.
The Gods of my ancestors sang to my soul. My wyrd, my orlög, are all tied in with the Gods of my folk.
How someone refuses that call.... I just can't imagine.
It is a call of such ... purity... such... beauty and just being RIGHT.
Anyway... they called to my soul, and I answered the call.

Do you really believe that 'magick' is possible? I hope that you merely observe these 'rituals' for purposes other than actually attempting to cast something.
However, if you believe magick does work, and is real, I really would appreciate you demonstrating as such to the folks paying millions for proof of the supernatural.
