I think its cute, too. :) The funny thing is that they've actually got me second-guessing myself! I type "atheist" and now I'm like, "That doesn't look right ..."

You're funny! Of course, they need to be corrected! The spelling here in "Answers" is generally atrocious, particularly considering that just above this box in which my answer to your question is manifesting is the phrase "Check Spelling". My own spelling is rather accurate generally, but I still employ the feature occasionally when in doubt. (Another error which never fails to annoy me is, as you have noted in your additional comment, the misuse of "your" for "you're".) Having done all of the preceding ranting, I must concede that the employment of the word "athiest" for "atheist" tends to indicate that the user fails to understand the term, cute though the misusage may be! It is our duty, naturally, to inform those who commit such errors for the sake of their religious education since God surely loves more those who can spell correctly! Why else would God have created English (and other languages) if not with the desire that they be written and spoken as he designed them??

LOL. I know, I used to do that a lot. Reason? For me, it all comes down to a lack of respect, not so much for atheists, but for the asker's own argument. I mean, if you want to put forward a compelling argument, you want to do it in a way that will be understood. It shows you don't even respect your own argument when you misspell words and use chatspeak in a question, and then expect (even demand) serious answers.

They might as well spell it correctly. There's really no reason not to spell it correctly. It's not a major thing, but you know they'd correct us each time we spelled Christian wrong.

I'm old - I'll score my points where ever I can.
Never let up on a loon.
AND, as an atheist, I thank the imaginary sky chappie every day for providing me with so many fundies to point and laugh at. ;)

If your coming to a debate to argue against logic and if you want to be taken seriously you should make sure you know how to spell or use the spell check at least.

I only correct people's spelling if they're calling other people stupid.
(Just because of the irony.)
