Grace is not license for sin (Romans 6).
Sin is the transgression of the Law (I John 3).
Ergo, grace is not license for transgressing the Law.
Repent and be saved means turning away from sin. If someone is still knowingly and purposefully living in sin, they have not repented and are not saved.
And while it is true that their PAST sins are paid for free and clear by the blood of the covenant, according to HEbrews 10:27 "if someone continues to sin after they have come to the knowledge of the truth [of the gospel], then there is no more sacrifice for their sins, only fiery condemnation."
Anyone who thinks salvation is a free pass does not know the Lord, or even read the gospels for that matter. What you're knocking is not "christianity," it is the false teaching of the roman church that has infected christendom that you are knocking - and you should. You can't just keep living in sin.

It is true that once you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and turn those sins over to him and, here's the key, dedicate your life to him you are saved. The problem is that many "so called" Christians think that this is a get out of jail free card. Say a simple prayer and you can do whatever you want. God knows their heart when they say that prayer. If they are sincere, they are forgiven. Does this mean that true Christians never sin? Absolutely not! Christians continue to sin until death, the difference is, now they fell convicted by the Holy Spirit and ask forgiveness and are forgiven. Many people in prison have time to reflect on what they did and I do believe many find Christ in prison. When we get to heaven we will still be held accountable for our actions. As the bumper sticker says "I'm not perfect, just forgiven"

No - you only have 1/2 the story.
Jesus said "Go and sin no more." - REPENT!
TURN AWAY from living a self-centered, selfish lifestyle, and make Jesus the Lord (boss) of your life.
These are the prerequisites to receive God's unmerited pardon and forgiveness.
Doing these things doesn't mean you now deserve anything, since we have already sinned and we already deserve the penalty. What it DOES mean is that unless we DO repent, God can NOT forgive us. God can not allow unrepentant sinners into heaven, or heaven will quickly become just as corrupt as earth, and God will NOT tolerate sin. He has a zero-tolerance policy on sin.
I trust that this helps you to see the full picture, because a 1/2 gospel is no gospel at all.

The point of the forgiveness of sins is not to make life somehow better for us. The point is that God (through Jesus, and through the apostles) wants us to be free of sins so that we can have a closer relationship (communion) with the Father as he intended.
A legalistic view, whereby someone thinks they can commit crimes, and then just go get forgiven, so that they can commit more is something that Jesus spoke strongly against. Jesus said many times that it is what it is the person's heart that matters.

One reason why people are close-minded about Christians is that yes there are some who give the rest of us a bad name....but we are not to judge them only God had that right and he will just like he will everyone...Jesus said not everyone who calls on my name and says Lord will I answer but will say depart from me you worker of iniquity - I never knew you!

It's easy for us to look around and see someone else doing something worse (in our minds) than we would ever do....that is the main reason athiests do not believe in God because if they believe in Karma, treating people well, being kind to others then they consider themselves to be better than a murderer or rapist or thief....and thats all that matters to them.
Heaven and Hell will both have murderers, rapists, child molesters, thieves, liars, adulterers and addicts AND they'll BOTH also have PREACHERS, missionaries, Priests, Nuns, School teachers, Librarians and seemingly nice little old gray haired grandmothers...(maybe even Saddam Hussein made it to Heaven who knows) ONLY GOD knows a mans heart and only HE has the right to decide who was sincere and who wasn't....King David was one of his favorite servants and yet David committed adultery, decetion and murder....thin about it.....as afr as the thugs wearing crosses? The other person was right...you just dont desire to do bad things anymore when you're Saved...but you'll still make mistakes too......we are ALL works in progress...and will be until the day we reach our eternal destination

God’s grace not only redeems the believer from every lawless deed, but it also guides the believer into holy living and makes the believer zealous for good deeds. This doesn’t mean that the believer never sins, but that his passion will be to honor God because of God’s grace working in the believer’s life. Forgiveness and holiness are two sides of the same coin of God’s grace…they go together. Although a believer may stumble and fall into sin at times and maybe even in a big way, the general path and direction of his life will be one of holiness and passion for God and His glory.

What a person wears around their neck and what they wear around their heart are two different things. Forgiveness is only given to those who truly believe and only God knows who those people are. Everybody sins, for their entire life, whether they are Christians or not. That's why we need Him in the first place. Forgiveness is not carte blanche to do whatever we please; it's a demonstration of love from God when we fall down. Our part in the bargain is to make effort to fall down less.

none of these likely believe in God or his forgiveness. you think that forgiveness gives a license to sin....
people sin without a license. those who commit crimes get their encouragement from sources that are not christian. like reading of criminals who didnt get caught. or watching the news. or tv shows and movies. or read books.
some news stories have reported that the criminals got their idea from a movie or some such.
i suppose that not many people bothered to try to make a bomb until they saw "how to make a bomb" in certain books available to the public.

Our sins are forgiven when we seek forgiveness from God and those we have sinned against and we must be sincere when seeking that forgiveness, not just paying lip service, and we must repent, turn from a sinful life and do God's will, not our own. Even though our sins are forgiven and forgotten by God we still must stand in judgement for our works, deeds, fruits.

You are very sadly mistaken my friend if you judge all those people you mention as Christian..... Wearing a cross around your neck means NOTHING...... Saying you are Christian means NOTHING..... There is ONLY one thing that means anything to God and that is FAITH !!!!!!! And God will confront us ALL .... People of the Faith will not be in the lake of fire, the last judgment, but they will KNOW what was done wrong in their lives...... Those that scream and shout out * I am forgiven * and then go opposite of Gods word, will learn the truth about themselves....... NEVER think God does not know the heart of a person....... Never underestimate the power of satan on this earth...... for You demonstrate well the image satan puts before the peoples eyes about Christians........ You and others assume way to much, and see very little of the true nature of God....... I know you and others have been exposed to a person of the true Faith, think of that person and then compare them to those you are discribing above...... and they are not nuts, they are referred to as *fools* in the bible....... go in peace..... God bless
