I think they actually believe they are doing what God has commanded - which of course isn't the case at all. The human race is His most beloved creation - above anything else He's created. The radicals take the words of the Quran literally. They read the black and white and don't use their brains to actually try to understand what it is they're reading. In so doing, they end up really messing things up in their lives and the lives of others. A pity, really.

The reality is most extremists who go against Islamic teachings and try to justify their acts by claiming Jihad are doing that out of a political motivation.

For example- In Palestine- Thier country was swept underneath their feet and renamed Israel. Since 1948 many Palestinians were genocidally wiped out, millions of others have been exiled as refugees while their homes were demoished and turned into condo and housing for the Jews. The remaining Palestinians are subject ot daily threats and terror. They are refused any legal army or military so they may not fight a conventional fight so they gather up explosives and go blow themselves up in market places. because 1- they have nothing to live for except getting their land and rights back 2- to fight back against these crimes against humanity and constant oppression by any means nessecary. You judge if this is wrong or not I can't because I can't imagine being in that situation much less what I would do about it.

All other stuations are about some political oppression that they are withstanding.

Seriously; I take offence in the fact that you, like most of the people who carry with them this mistaken belief, term these "radicals" as "Islamic".

They are not 'Islamic' people; but Muslims. (Islam means: Surrender to Allah or God; it does not and refuses to promote hatred, killing which some misguided-Muslims are bent on doing.)

Their chief fight is against their own governments.
