the reason why non-believers are refered to as fools is because its a smear campaign. no seriously no joke.

atheism was a major problem for the upstart church at the time the books were written, they looked at christianity much like people look at scientology today.
why else would the bible smear simon the sorcerer so often in the new testament, the idea of sorcery was a real threat to the early church

The truth can be, and is redundant at times. It should be. Why should only once the truth be stated in the Bible and not many more times? It sinks in better when it's found throughout God's word, the Bible.

That's like saying, "Well, I know my deck is made of two by fours, but why so many"? It is because multiple two by fours make up the sound foundation of a patio deck than just one would.
