Well I can't, and I can't blow on a candle and light it either. I understand why you ask though. I read a book once that was supposed to help you tune into your psychic abilities and it ended with the apparent expectation of my being able to levitate. EH?
Magic is not like you see in the media, just like love isn't, but just like real love, real magic is so much better than what they present it as.

Honey, you really need to think about why you are becoming a witch or Wiccan if you don't understand that such things are not possible. It isn't like in tv shows. You won't see any demons, you won't be able to float things in the air, you won't be able to cast fireballs, you can't change form into an animal, or any of the other things like that.
There is no "right and truthful way". Every witch or wiccan are different.
All you need to realize that this isn't the movies or a tv show.
Just remember "Harm None" (with exceptions made for food and self protection if your life is in immediate danger) and "whatever you do comes back to you".

Sorry, dear, magic doesn't work that way. All things have to operate by the laws of nature and we're no exception. If magic practitioners could go against the laws of physics there would be a lot of rich ones working for NASA. Do some more reading. You have to learn about the spiritual aspects of this path. And anytime you come across a book that states that you can levitate things or fly or change the colour of your eyes with magic, throw it in the trash.

Rule number one: No more Silver Ravenwold
Rule #2. Wicca is about religion, not magic. Magic is a tool with IN Wicca (And some other pagan faiths). That's like saying Communion is Catholic. Prayer is Christian. It's just something used, it is not the definition.
Rule #3 Listen to anything that Raven or Labgrrl answer you with on this. They can lead you back to Reality.

"Anyways, can you actually float or levitate things?"
I haved never tried to do this - why would I waste my energy? Much easier to pick the darned thing up. And I VERY MUCH doubt that anyone can do this as anything but a parlor trick with hidden wires or some such.
"I just want to know because I am a beginner wiccan and I can't figure out what things are true or not. In some places, there are things that say yes, and other places that say no."
Believe the ones that say NO to claims about violating natural laws..
"I'm just confused! Is there any place or website I can go to to learn witchcraft the right way and the truthful way? I don't want anything false because I am a beginner."
OK, well, here's a few tips:
* Stay the heck away from anyone who gives him- or her-self exaggerated titles.
* Stay away from anyone who charges money for learning Wicca or any other form of the Craft
* Stay away from anyone who talks about "sex magic" as being a requirement
* READ THIS:
http://www.cog.org/wicca/teach.html
* AND THIS:
http://wicca.timerift.net/wicca101/index.shtml
Also, MUCH of what is written about "Wicca" is tripe. Utter and complete tripe. Stay away from most of Llewellyn publishes. STAY AWAY from $Ilver Ravenwolf.

No one can defy the laws of physics.
Gravity isn't just a suggestion, you know. Magic is about internal change. It's about using psychology, symbolism, self-hypnosis and positive reinforcement to change yourself and your life.

Witchcraft does not defy the laws of physics. It's a method of self-empowering much like meditation

The best way to learn about Wicca is to run screaming away from ANY website or book that mentions magic(k) other than to say "Wicca is not about magic."
