Personally, I've always thought that peace is impossible. For as long as life exists, there will be conflict, as creature battles creature for survival. Even within ourselves, our bodies fight battles of their own, against disease, or against the blade of betrayal, loneliness and anxiety. Peace is impossible.

Personally, I've always thought that peace is impossible. For as long as life exists, there will be conflict, as creature battles creature for survival. Even within ourselves, our bodies fight battles of their own, against disease, or against the blade of betrayal, loneliness and anxiety. Peace is impossible.

And then, we, as humans, are bred on conflict. We require it in order to grow, to develop, and yet peace would be the more desirable achievement, yet we willingly take up arms against our own brothers and sisters. How ironic.

There are TWO applications of 'peace' involved here - external and internal, and neither is an illusion. They are merely difficult to acquire.

External - NOT A CHANCE without Divine intervention - mankind will ALWAYS want SOMETHING, and someone or something else will possess it or control it, and thus the struggle.

Internal - this one's different . . . this one is by CHOICE! If a person chooses a path, settles on it, and is resolved NOT to waiver from it, then they may CHOOSE to NOT ALLOW internal conflict regarding their choice!

The external cannot happen until everyone on the planet chooses to be at peace internally, thus the need for intervention!

Diversity is life. With diversity we cannot have peace as we define peace to be. Our version of what peace is will never work.

But if we accept the diversity and allow the diversity to flourish, then that itself is a peace. But this is unacceptable to many, as that would mean that they would have to accept the presence of disease, death, etc. All the things they don't like to see.

Religion is a fight against how nature works. It is not being able to accpt how nature works. Religion the main reason why peace will never happen.

Yes you have it in one. And the present generation are about to find out big time as the new middle east war gets ramped up.
Jesus never promised peace on earth -
John 14
27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We are subject to the Fall. It is the 2nd law of thermodynamics of the soul - but Peace of and In Christ and that alone is sufficient to bring a person through this veil of tears.

The term peace is relative. We may never have a complete absence of conflict (how boring!), but it's very possible to imagine a planet with no active shooting war going on, except to the extent you can call the war on crime to be a war.

Everlasting peace without Christ!?
Forget about it! Man doesn't possess the capacity for eternal peace. Because man always wants more than he can handle or deserves.
