God created all things for reasons above our reason to know. Blame him if you like but it will do you no good.

As rational creatures, we have a duty to reason and question in order to learn and grow.
Most believers question their faith at some point although many refuse to admit it because the admission would place them outside their group - they risk being ostracized. This fear and the pressure from their fellow believers keep them from leaving the faith. (This is more obvious - and the pressure greater - in some faiths than others.)
Pressure is kept up by self-deprecatory statements without any basis in truth: eg 'god almighty, his intellect is so far above us that he would make Einstein look like a retard'. These may influence those whose powers of reason are lacking or suppressed, but many of us require more facts than supernatural fiction.
I say, yes, believers question their faith - and it is a good thing, a way forward - even a duty.

Hello, I’m very sorry for your loss, and there is no doubt in my mind that something tragic can shake your faith. I’ve had discussions with different people about this topic, including Jehovah’s Witnesses. Even though I don’t “buy their party line” their explanation of your dilemma makes sense to me. Here is how it was explained to me:
God gives us free will on Earth. Despite our wishes, he does not intervene. Man’s miss-use of Free Will is the cause of our Earthly problems -- wars, disease and other suffering. I won’t go into it anymore deeply than that, but here’s how I interpret that:
Since God gives Mankind Free Will, he basically lets us humans here on Earth “stew in our own juices”. Whatever challenges that he wants us to rise to would be pointless if He always rescued us, wouldn’t they? Think of your life as a journey towards becoming whole with God, evolving towards an ultimate higher self and that this life in only one step along the way of that journey. On that journey, some tough lessons will be learned.
With that perspective, tragedy makes a lot more sense. You are only separated from your loved one because he/she is dead to this world. Trust me; he/she is not dead, and I believe that they are definitely in good hands.
Live your life here on Earth well. Be a good person and try to always strive towards becoming a higher spiritual being. God is the giver of abundance, of life and the Creator of the Universe. This suffering that we experience on Earth is temporary. Life on Earth is full of seemingly pointless tragedy and pain, but it is also full of wonder and beauty. Grow, adjust and maintain your faith. And while you are doing that, enjoy your life and the blessings that do come.
God is not “out to get you” or ignore your pain. He’s letting you live and learn. I admit that the purpose of it all is truly beyond me. But that is what I believe in my heart.
Good luck to you!

but we as a society have brought disease upon ourselves. My God knows every sparrow that falls. Why would I ask God why He has taken a loved one to Glory Land. I know I shall see them again when either my Lord returns or when He calls me to Glory. Even though it is a sad time when I lose a loved one it is also a time of rejoicing because they are no longer suffering here on earth. They have a new body without pain.

God isn’t to blame, but man’s Fall that brought in death, which includes all forms of sickness. Jesus suffered and died so that we could be freed from all forms of evil. For those who believe in Him, they have been able to pray for and receive miracles of healings for people who’ve had down-syndrome and many other kinds of genetic defects. God bless.

You mean "does one have the right to question God" when faced with overbearing tragedy?
The answer is no. However, it IS natural of our Human Condition on the spiritual facet---that we wind up doing just that: questioning God on His will.
And I do believe He may get miffed at us for it, but He also understands why we do that in such situations.

It depends on the believer's level of faith. Someone with very strong faith may eventually come to accept that this is all a part of God's greater plan. Those with less faith may decide that God is either punishing them or has forgotten about them.

Yes... I questioned God in my crisis. I think it is ok to question God. But we also have to listen for the answer.
