Hello, all:

If you look at some of the answers to this question:

You will see people saying that this is God's judgement and that they are actually happy that this is happening.

People are losing their homes. People are suffering. People are dying. Not to mention all the animals that have lost their lives and are continuing to be destroyed.

How can anyone actually be *happy* about this, and what are your thoughts about that?

why did the jews leave who before this followed him? Didnt they also take him literrally which caused them to leave? Do you think Jesus didnt know about the chapter in Leviticus, of corse he did, but why was he setting them up like this? Why didnt he apostles leave also? Like us catholics, where else can we go Lord, you have the words of eternal life, and we therefore believe you!!

(besides your deity) to guide you in your spiritual life and to mentor you along your spiritual way, who would it be? Why?

Mine would be St. Joseph. I suspect he must've been a very pure and holy and wise man for God to choose him to be foster father to God the Son.

Grunt and gurgle, little toad
Down there in your mud abode.
Do you ever think of us?
Do we make you fret and fuss
With our wars and waste and greed,
Our rush towards death with reckless speed?
Do you wonder at our fate,
Who preach of Love, and practice Hate?
Who distrust and fear those not like we,
Though they live next door or across the sea?
Do you laugh and laugh at how we talk
Of peace, while one hand holds a rock
Ready to bash our neighbor's head,
Because he's yellow, black or red?
And those who cry, "We must disarm!
Our enemies will ne'er do us harm.
When they see we've no weapons or means of defense,
They'll be happy to stay on their side of the fence."
Or to those who say, "Attack and fight!
We'll show them all that might is right.
Who cares about nuclear radiation?
It's important we prove we're the strongest nation!"

I've been a Wiccan for a little over a year, I was Agnostic for several years before that, and a Christian from the beginning because my parents raised me to believe that Christianity was all there was in the world. When my best friend since I was two found out that I was a Wiccan, she called me every bad thing she could think of because I was no longer a good person.

I am 20 years old, I don't smoke, I don't do any drugs, I don't drink and I've never had sex. Yet I know 15-year-old christian girls who do all of those things, and my friend honestly believes that those girls are better people than me based only on the fact that they are christian! She believes that my friend's father who beats her for being 'overweight' (she only weighs 140 lbs) is a better person than me because he says he's a christian.

How do other Christians feel about this? Are Christians the only good people based on the fact that they are Christians and the rest of us are not? I'm curious.

Years after Russell's death, and well into the 1920's the Watchtower Society continued to teach that Jehovah God designed the pyramid.

"In the passages of the Great Pyramid of Gizeh the agreement of one or two measurements with the present-truth chronology might be accidental, but the correspondency of dozens of measurements proves that the same God designed both pyramid and plan..." The Watch Tower, June 15, 1922, page 187

In the November 15, 1928, issue of the Watch Tower, however, Judge Rutherford reversed the teaching on the Pyramid, now calling it " Satan's Bible " and declaring that persons following pyramid teachings were " not following after Christ";

"If the pyramid is not mentioned in the Bible, then following its teachings is being led by vain philosophy and false science and not following after Christ" ( page 341 )

If you haven't seen the first part of the zeitgeist movie (zeitgeistmovie.com), you may have no idea what I'm talking about (even if you are christian).

Examples of christian beliefs explained by sun worship/astrology:
- The Jesus fish symbol
- Death on the cross
- Dead for 3 days
- Birth on Dec 25
- 3 wise men following star in East
- Born of a virgin
- 12 Disciples

According to the video, most of these are common elements of many ancient religions and come directly from sun worship. I am interested in finding how many people are familiar with this view and whether anyone can provide solid objections. I don't feel strongly about this (yet), and am asking out of pure curiousity.

I'm a Christian and I love Harry Potter. I'm 17 years old [Sorry, I just felt the need to share that. Lol.] and I love the Harry Potter books. I've heard alot of Christians telling me that it's "bad" but honestly, what's so bad about it... I mean, I would NEVER recommend it to kids but for teens and adults I think it's just another good book. I think that as long as you're not getting TOO into it then it's fine. What do you guys think? I'm not obsessed with it I just think that they're interesting.
