This is me and I'm not afraid for people to know what I think. I do switch back and forth, however. I'm not entirely decided if I should not use my photo for security purposes so that's why I juggle back and forth. It's hard to make out what I look like anyway as I used some weird focus from my laptop to take the photo. I have nothing left to hide in terms of my family and friends.

And you are hiding your true self from your family. That's dishonest. A true Christian would love you anyway. Sad situation in your family.
My two brothers are Atheists. Their wives, along with myself, are Christians. Some of my family members are indifferent to religion. But we are a close family who loves, laughs, and get together as often as we can.
How do you know my picture is fake, anyway?

An avatar with a real picture of me would be disastrous. I'm just so darn HAWT, I'd have everyone hitting on me, and well, we can't have that can we?
My avatar says more about me than any real pic could anyway. I really am a cow.

Are you sure it is not because once a Christian knows someone is an Atheist they spend every waking moment trying to bring them back to God?? That's why I don't tell my family and friends that my bookshelf is full of spell books because I don't want to hear their self-righteous lectures. I don't need saving. On Yahoo, I just don't want people to see me because there are some strange people out there.

Well... it's the name I am hiding behind.. not the image. The avitars I use are me.. this particular one was 23 years ago. The name is fake, although I was contemplating adopting this name permanently... but it's the anonymity of it that provides a little freedom to really express ourselves. You can discover more about yourself without the shackles of your own self image.

Yeah, me too. Plus I'm emotionally stunted, so I must always hide a part of myself even while opening up like I am right now. I love Yahoo Answers!

I like playing around with the avatar, different hairstyles, etc. That was such a girlie response huh? haha :-) Also, I don't want people to know what I look like, unless I let them by say befriending them on my myspace page.

First reason: trolls who will copy your picture and be offensive all over the net.
Second reason: Professional, my views are my own and cannot be equated to my workplace. That is a common courtesy.
