Do they know what they're requesting?

Christians may find the Bible to be reassuring, but atheists and others tend to note the chaotic violence of the Hebrew God with horror and revulsion.

It seems to me that reading or rereading the BIble reinforces the reader's original impressions on the subject, regardless of the openness of mind. Anyone else see it like that?

In the book of Daniel concerning most if not all expect chapter 12, would you say his visions are related to items before Christ and about the coming of Christ whereas Revelations is mainly after Christ and about the second coming of Christ?

Ofcourse Chrisitianity and Buddhism are two distinct religions with two different aspects to life.

However, both got one great man in them; namely Jesus and Buddha.

Now one thing is for certain, both men actually lived.

The question is whether they were as divine as scriptures claim or not.

There are lots of scriptures on how Jesus was able to split the ocean or turn a wand into a snake while Budhha had golden aura covering Him before dying.

So what I want to know is; with all the scriptures and history tellings of Buddha having aura and being free of karma; do you believe the story of of Him is true and do you agree with his teachings on reincarnation and etc.?

Note that you Christians rely on all the books and scriptures on Jesus' history to claim His validity.

Therefore I assume you would treat Buddhism with the same manner?

So if you don't believe in His stories with all the writings why would you believe in Jesus' stories when they are basically equal?

Okay, I know it says, "Go ye into all the world making disciples of all nations....."
However few among us actually do THAT so where does it say we have to go to our neighbor who few people know anyway?

After the hateful post by a proclaimed Christian, I flipped back to my mail and a person who said they were Christian had added me to their contacts. They had a few Christians that I know in their contacts, but none of my Atheist, Pagan or friends from other belief systems were there. Their email was not open. I only took a moment to go through their Q&A history before I decided it was more important to get them out than to worry about offending them.

Hey, first of all I know progetizise is not spelled like that, but I don't know how to spell it correctly. Well people have told me stuff that god has tell them, I've done that but I feel like I can't profetizise and I really need to be delivered. I'm christian and I love god, I left the world, but since I haven't been delivered the demons always put me back to the world. Do you think if I get delivered from all the bad spirits, I'll be able to be closer to god??

In the bible it says that just before the world ends many natural disasters strike. In southern California there are several wild fires going on and many believe this is the beginig of the end. As long as you have God in your life you will be fine...so the question is...Got God?

So I'm wondering how far up people believe the "lies" go. I've seen people write that most Mormons don't know what we believe in and that our leaders cover things up. Which leaders? Local leaders, regional leaders, national leaders, worldwide leaders? how far up do people think this conspiracy goes?

I have never been a very religious person. I do believe in the Bible even tho I honestly havent read the entire book. I guess what I am saying is that I feel so lost, depressed and very unhappy. Im 38 now and feel like it has been wasted time. Everyone says "Pray" go to church etc etc etc.... I do want to change but how?

What way would you have a christian approach you with a question for honest debate? It seems like many people here seem to get riled up really easily. Do you immediately get leery of answering a question if you sense it is being asked by a christian and assume you will be rebuffed or ridiculed?

And the same question applies for Christians in reverse of course.

Check this out.

I had my account suspended for a couple of days pending appeal. Seems a group of idiots got upset at some of my posts in R&S and kept reporting them.

I have figured out the culprits involved. I guess they even posted a thread to gang up on me and have me removed.

Of course they have blocked my view of the thread but I have had bits and pieces of it passed on through e-mail.

Should I be vindicitive or let it go?
