David, the sweet Psalmist of Israel:

Psalm 73:

2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

I identify with a lot of them. I see a little of me in Job, David, Moses, Paul, Peter, Thomas. I believe every story there is there to show us something about ourselves. I love it when new Christians start reading the Bible for the first time and how shocked they are that Abraham lied about Sarah being his wife, and that David was an adulterer and killed Uriah etc. They are so shocked that these men were not perfect. Then they learn about faith and how they loved God and trusted God even though they messed up plenty. I love how Peter denied Christ 3 times out of fear but grew so much in faith that he eventually gave his life instead of denying his faith in Jesus.I think every last one of them is there for us to identify with and learn from. God bless!!

Well, I'd definately have to say, Joseph. We've had similar family hardships. As well as a profound parallel call on our lives to reach out with God's provision during a famine, in the land. Only difference is, the type of famine now,is that of hearing God's Voice, and this time the provision is the Spiritual Bread of God's Word. I am humbly honored by His call on my life in this way. Only by His Grace and annointing can I follow where He leads.

My first thought was Job because I have had numerous health issues since I first came down wth polio as a child and those have grown through the years so it has been very stressful, plus I have gone through tremendous financial problems because of illnesses and surgeries since 1987 and many times felt like throwing up my hands and quitting. But I never one time blamed God for my trials, even though I know as Christians we go through them to help make us stronger. The last 20 years have been especially difficult but I feel I have grown alot through all that has happened.

I can also relate to David because I try to be a good Christian but fail so many times that I wonder that God could still love me sometimes. I so admire the way David opened up to God and how he poured his heart out but never gave up his faith, knowing God would forgive him. So much wisdom in the Psalms.

Only one.... that is hard to choose.

I greatly admire David because he was a sinful man but one that had a very soft heart toward God. He sinned but then he truly repented and wept for his sins. His heart was for God, his actions were that of a weak man.

He did like the apostle Paul said, the things I would do, I do not but the things I don't want to do, those I do. (Paraphrased)

We see by both of these men, we can still be close to God even though we are not perfect. We just have to repent and come back to Him.

Actually, there are more than one! For the sake of your eyes, (lol) I will keep it to one....my favorite one!

I can relate very much to Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus! These three siblings loved Jesus and they were always hosting the Lord and His disciples.

On these occasions, Martha did as many of us would do...she worried over the menu, household chores and so forth. Not Mary! Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, breathing in every word He spoke! Mary, of Bethany, was more than a friend...she was a true follower and even her actions, proved her undying love for HIM!

As a Christian, through prayer, I feel as though, I am sitting at His feet when my heart is open to Him! I feel His presence, I long for all His truths and like Mary, I will forever keep my eyes on HIM!

Oh wow! I love to talk about this topic.....Job is the man I identify with.......don't laugh, let me hahahahahah
Seriously.....I think I am a child of God and Satan has no power over me without God's permission, just like Job........So I can rest in the Lord knowing whatever happens he has allowed it for a good reason.....

The woman at the Well. Not by way of moving from one man to another, but by way trying to find something that would satisfy the deep longing in my being. And seeking " things" to fill it. The Lord went out of his way to meet her that day. He told her that He had the water that could satisfy her inner longings. He even helped her to confess her sin:) When He asked her where her husband was... He said that she was married seven times and that the man she was with was not her husband....imagine that:)
He met me too... like that lady at the well and like her I got the Living Water only He could be to me.

Paul.
I used to be ROTTEN - really.
Now, I'm doing okay, although I still get my temper boiling once in a while.

EDIT: One other thing: Sorry to hijack your question, but has anyone seen another phony me?
Some of you know that a fake Catholic Crusader has been spreading negativity, using my name. If you see anything blatently stupid posted by my name and avatar, please be aware. I found their profile at:

I suggest you block this person so you can tell the difference between me and them. Two phoney accounts have already been deleted by Yahoo, but this is a new one.

I relate to Jeremiah more then anyone else, not that I'm proclaiming myself a prophet, no way! I'm truly the least of all saints. I just cant help but smile when i read his prophecy, though it is a melancholy book.
