The Bible teaches that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is death. (Romans 3:23; 6:23) God has given us the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ and therefore granted us salvation. (Romans 6:23). This gift of Salvation comes by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8) There is nothing we can do to earn Salvation we can only accept his mercy and be born again and renewed by the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:3-6; John 3:5)

How does a person accept God's Gift?
Believe- You believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and he was raised from the dead (John 3:16; Romans 10:9)
Repent- You seek forgiveness and turn away from sin. (Acts 2:38, 3:19)
Confess- You confess Jesus Christ as Lord. (Romans 10:9-13; Matthew 10:32)
Baptism- You get baptized ("immersed") into Christ for the forgiveness of sins and the receiving of the Holy Spirit. (Mark 16:16; John 3:5; Acts 2:38, 22:16; Galatians 3:26-29; 1 Peter 3:21)

I first realized how awesome God is when I connected Matthew 27:46 to Psalms 22 -

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46

Psalms 22, which was written about a thousand years before the fact, starts out like the above verse. 22 goes on to describe the Crucifiction in detail, even the Romans casting lots for Christ's garments.

So, instead of having a weak moment, as some have suggested, Jesus was actually teaching right from the cross. He was pointing to Psalms 22, saying that prophecy's been fulfilled.

How awesome is that?

Your Father did something awesome for you in the following verse:

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Matthew 27:51

The above veil separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the temple. Only the high priest was allowed to go behind that veil. He acted as an intercessor between the congregation and God. After the veil was rent, God invited all who will to communicate directly with Him. No intercessor required.

And the most quoted verse from the Bible:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

There are so many “real” people that would be thrilled to help you get started…
I’ve seen it all, really truly Jesus is the only one who can fill that gap inside, He changed my life and healed every hurt I’ve faced, He’s real and living and waiting for you…
The Bible is literal, it's been written over 2000 years by people ranging from doctors to fishermen, kings to slaves and is totally uniform in message there are no contradictions, it's the most read, and top seller in history, no one has been able to prove it false... No one ever found the Body of Christ either... if they had it would all be over... But they couldn't produce it...
Find a bible preaching church, you'll meet real people there that can answer all your questions!
God Bless
Jesus said He who seeks me finds me when they seek with their whole heart.

There is only one basic tenent to Christianity:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He is the redeemer of the human race to God...necessary because we have not obeyed God's commands.

Email me with your questions. I will be happy to answer them.

PS
Some Christians believe that only those who ask for redemption are redeemed. I am one of the weird ones who thinks Christ redeemed the entire human race.

Christianity is a vast umbrella these days. You should talk to a priest or minister and pray for guidance.

Converting to Christianity is really just believing God, what He did, what He said, and what we are to do in this life. The Bible is the source of God's interaction with humanity, so it is certainly required that a Christian believe it...it is after all the only reason we know about Jesus Christ in the first place. If you throw out the Bible, you throw out everything we know about God and all the reasons we need a Savior. Some believe you can believe parts of it and not other parts...because they do not want to deal with things written within it that are difficult to understand or difficult to admit.

The main point is that God created us, He gave us His laws and we broke them...all of them, and He gives us the most divinely loving gift of salvation in Jesus Christ if we have faith in Him.

Breaking the Law of God has one consequence.

Not one of us has ever been able to live our lives from the day of our birth until the day of our death, without breaking "all" of God's Laws...you will understand what I mean later if you do not now. Essentially, even breaking one of God's Laws means that we have "broken" the Law of God.

Because we are sinners, we need a Savior, we need God. The entire purpose of the Law was to demonstrate to teach us how sinful we are, to train us.

Because God loves the world, Loves us so very much beyond my ability to describe or explain adequately, He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who was the only One to obey the entire Law of God perfectly and never sin. He then paid the penalty for "our" sins when He died and suffered the full wrath of God's righteous judgment that we deserve, so we wouldn't have to, and thereby He fulfilled the Law of God and defeated sin. He was resurrected from the dead to demonstrate to us that He has defeated death, and to guarantee to us that we also will be raised from the dead if we put our trust and faith in Him.

When we have faith in Jesus Christ, we are saved on "account" of His loving sacrifice for us. Because He is righteous, and gives us His righteousness in exchange for our sinfulness, when God judges us who have faith in Christ, He only sees the righteousness of Christ. We are forgiven and made perfect by Christ. We do not deserve it and we cannot earn it. It is freely given by God by our faith in His Son.

When we agree that we are sinners and need a Savior, Christ is the only answer, He is the One path to freedom and forgiveness that God has provided for all of humanity...all we have to do is admit to God our guilt...repent - ask for forgiveness and turn away from our sins, believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again, and ask Him to be the Lord of your life and your Savior, and you will be saved, the Holy Spirit will live in you and help you each day to be better.

You will be reborn in Christ.

Reading your Bible as often as you can and finding a Bible believing church will help you to grow in your faith and understand better what it is God expects of us in life now that we are no longer bound to the penalty of the Law. Pray for wisdom, and understanding, and always seek God, and you will find Him, and He will provide you with all the answers you can bear at any given time.

Bible study is a wonderful tool for learning more about Biblical history and more of what it means to be a part of the family of God.

Only you can decide what to believe, but faith in God has one absolute advantage above and beyond any other thing you might put your faith or trust in...He is Real and He will prove it to you in your life with Him, even if those around you do not believe it yet.

Take Care and God Bless you!

Christianity is not so much a religion as it is a relationship. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's standards (which he told us about in the Bible.) In order to bring us into a right relationship with him, God sent his son, Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins. To get into a right relationship with God (convert to Christianity) you need to confess your sins, accept by faith that Jesus died to save you and ask him to be your saviour and the Lord of your life.

as far as bullet points maybe stick with the bullet points the catholic, protestant and orthodoc church has agreed on

1) the 12 verse Apostles creed (the historic baptism creed in early centuries)
2) the 24 verse Nicean Creed ( Orthodox disagree with a little bit of the wording in one clause)

I would recommend a website like
http://www.answersinGenesis.com
http://www.tekton.com
http://www.equip.org
for defense of faith

and to expound on what CHristians believe
http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Articles/ByDate/1995/1546_Quest_for_Joy/
and the desiring god website in general

I would also recommend RC Sproul's website
http://www.ligonier.org
for teaching materials carefully put together on Christian beliefs
