Fear is what keeps one safe in life. If we did not fear, that which could harm or kill us, we would not last long. Being good and doing good, in contributing to a better world is a positive thing. Being bad and causing trouble in the world, will tend not to have the best consequences for you. Religions tend to overplay their hand, in order to get more influence. A good, and a moral God, would not give such extreme, and unjust punishment to people, as endless torture is. A good God is more into rehabilatation, than punishment, but still would be rough on those who deserve it.
God is fair and treat good people well.

You stereotype the religion, and simplify it.
That's like sending someone out on a trip through a huge maze and only telling them which way to turn on the last corner!
We are smart, but not smart enough to be given full understanding of God, all the answers we want, the universe, etc., etc.

You have to want a relationship with God before insight is bestowed upon you.
You read words in a book, that are just words. You hear preachers words, and they are just words. When and if you are ever ready to receive the truth, you will understand better.

1stJohn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. The fear you are talking about doesn't exist in Christianity. The fear in Christianity is a Father and child relationship. Its not the same kind of fear obviously. Jesus loved us so much he died for us on a cross, now does that sound like a God that wants you to go to Hell, I don't think so. Jesus died as a perfect sacrifice for our sins so we could be in Heaven for eternity. In John 3:3 Jesus said we must be born again to go to Heaven, to do that we must believe and confess. Here is a simple sinners prayer that you can pray that if you really believe in Jesus will take you to the cross and lead you to Jesus, just say Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

We always look at it like we are in a good situation and are going to be sent to a bad situation. Maybe we should realize that we are in a bad situation and that Jesus Christ will bring us into the good.

Christianity is not ran by fear. The only fear we have is the fear of the Lord, which is not fear in the sense you are saying it, but the fear is the great respect. I have no fear of Hell, because I am saved. I grieve for those who do not have it, because they are the ones who should be afraid. Not Christians.

Fear is just one of the methods used to control people and remove their money into the church. Faith is another way to get the same result.
If you just think about this with your own mind and not the bible or book it will soon come to you.

Because they are full of themselves and I see a control factor in many churches of today....If they new what they were preaching and didn't put their own two cents to twist the word into a religious box then man would see the light and follow it because God would be able to do the rest..... Man is the downfall

People don't go to hell for sin, they go to hell for not accepting Christ.

This does not excuse sin, for God has a punishment for sinful believers, and its not purgatory. I discuss this here:

If you don't believe in eternal damnation, then what are you ascard of? If you go there, it's by your own choice.
