have you noticed this sort of underlying rivalry on yahoo answers? it's like a 3:1 ratio of atheists to christians who answer the religious questions. The thumbs up and down have the same ratio. Why do atheists complain about god preachers when they push their views across in a "i know everything" attitude.

FYI-I am an atheist.

I see what you say but is it not more about philosophy and politics? I went back and looked at what you suggest and found more people of all beliefs talking about misuse of power than being critical of any religion. I think personally that religion should be separate from the excercise of power which should be objective and even-handed. Which is what a lot of 'atheists' also seem to believe.

How come an atheist group can answer a religious question in a religious manner if it is not a religion at all. A religious question can be best answered by religious group and not by any non-religious group. Some atheists complain about this religious preachers because they do not believe in God. Believing there is an Almighty God this question will never be raised at all.

I am an atheist as well. I have noticed that as well. I don't walk around with a know it all attitude, and I love some teachings of religions, but when religions get exclusive and just cruel with their teachings, bad things happen. Isn't it sad that so many have died in the name of Jesus Christ? Jesus was an accepting man who would never hurt or outcast any man woman or child. I respect the teachings of Jesus and I am disappointed that he was made into a god. I just wish everyone would believe in each other rather than their own accuracy.

There are some nice Atheists and Christians on here. You will notice that the "bashers " on either side tend to be the same immature, dumb people. And they tend to ask the same, immature, dumb questions.

Ignore them. I bet they are 12 years old eating EasyMac with no life. I dought they would have the guts to say those things to ppl's faces.

This is a fabulous question and I truly commend you for having the cojones to speak it like it is. I dont believe all atheists on here are nasty and rude, however so many are its hard sometimes to read some of this stuff. I have never prothezised on here once, yet I am told I damn people to hell all the time and that I am weak, delusional and in need of meds. Oh yes, and also that I have no sense of humor because I cant "laugh at myself" Thanks for letting me rant! Again, I think it rocks you posted this! Thank you!

lol...i have found that the easiest way to find out what a lot of r&s atheists are thinking is to frame a question like this: 'Christians only, please respond"...i do find it very neighborly of some of the atheists on this forum to jump in and explain what we Christians believe and why, with AT LEAST one notable exception....tash vt-she never does that...i'm guessing she's got some kind of compulsion for showing respect for other people...she's a lot like the atheists i know in 'real life'

You claim to be an atheist. However, I do not know towhich strain you belong. An atheist is not one out with sword in hand a challenging god for a duel.(He cannot by definition do it). An atheist is basically a rationalist who wants pass faith through fire to test where it is pure gold. There humble submission that in the context of the existing scienific knowledge the hypothesis of god does not stand scrutiny. This ex amination is probably taken as Inquisition] by the believers. However when you are out to challenge some fundamental things it is necessary to go to the roots and uproot some embeded belieffs which the believers may find it difficult to digest. Since they cannot pay back in the same coin of incisive analysis as they say in an Indian proverb the seek to end the argument alleging willful insults to powers t hat be.

Who knows, the only thing I know is that....Atheists are kind of crazy not to believe in God, because if they just took a minute and thought to themselves.."if there IS a God,then I'm screwed!" So, Atheists: You have nothing to lose to believe, so it's better to be safe than sorry, right?!!!

YES. I have joined this thing about 5 hours ago and it is really obvious, not to mention annoying. The problem is all these ppl's answers are incredibly bias. They don't have an open mind about any of the arguements that go on.
