Can we stop judging?
This is my challenge. For the next 72 hours, when you look at, or talk to someone, see them as a person whom Jesus Christ loves and respond to them accordingly.
I don't care who they are...homosexual, drug addict, criminal, bum on the street...even that member of the family who is a pain to everyone else...
At the end of 72 hours, I'm going to ask you to report here, and tell me what, if anything, you have learned; that is, provided you are up for the challenge.
Thank you, Sawyer, for planting the seed for this idea.
So are you up for it?

Pray, St. Boniface. Pray that God's wisdom and the grace of Jesus Christ would cover every one of God's children.

I believe we have 8 hours left on this challenge; I forgot to look at the clock...lol. Sadly, I have already messed up one time, although it wasn't because of what that person was, but how they reacted to me.
I hope everyone else is doing better!

I have a better idea.
Since all human beings are the genetic descendants of God, treat them as God's children.
This is one of the biggest flaws in the Christian belief system: that you have to be born again to be a child of God, and that being born again gives the right to be prejudiced and discriminate against those who are not. Yet, to be made in the image of God, in a world where children always physically resemble their parents, is a lesson from Genesis 1 that Christians just don't get.
That means that you no longer have the luxury of naming a person by their life style or background. The only luxury you have is naming the sin. The moment you step outside that circle, you'll find the God you worship defending the sinner against you. That's what you get for mounting a personal and unnecessary attack on one of his children.
(72 hours isn't long enough.)

Awww you touched a nerve with honest Blunt Opinioner. apparently she has a situation with different peoples evaluations. a giggle. directly to the question. you may clarify in undeniable english which you will by no potential convert and that she will drop it or go away and see what she does with it. If she leaves, stable riddance, you will stumble on new acquaintances. If she shuts up approximately it then its all stable. If she retains harassing you then you definitely might desire to take extra steps, informing mothers and dads, and so on. and so on. the certainty is which you cant reason with a christian while it is composed of their faith. Blind faith via definition defies reason. you're searching for a sparkling chum quickly, yet please be reassured that it quite is HER situation and not your individual. there is not any longer something incorrect with questioning for your self instead of taking the word of a few 2000 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous tome written via madmen. a minimum of you utilize the suggestions you have been given.

personally, i'm up for it...it think, however, that at least one person responding to this question is missing the point...the point is NOT whether one feels that homosexuals, drug addicts, criminals, etc...are wrong or evil or whatever-the point is that God created those individuals, and loves them no less than anyone else-and that we should keep His love in mind. it's not 'judging' on your part, it's elaborating on the point-clarifying, if you will. is clarification necessary? sadly, i believe it is, based on a lot of posts i've read from people identifying themselves as Christians. it is easy to show love for people with whom we agree, people who don't make us uncomfortable; however, Christ commanded us to 'love our neighbor'...that means everyone. i hope i'm not being presumptuous here, frenzy, but i think i've gotten to know you well enough to safely say that you're not the judgmental sort-

I accept the challenge!!
Yes, I believe in Jesus Christ, but I am not like all the Christians (fundies). I believe in Jesus as a Master, as a Teacher and I know He meant much more than we may think... He loves us all, no matter who we are.
Peace!

I already try to do this every day in my life. I understand what you are trying to do and I commend you for making an attempt to improve things. But since you feel you need to make such a request only reveals that many Christians are not treating others as they want to be treated. And I find that very sad. This is why so many non-believers accuse us all of being hypocrites.

...Thank you for offering, but I don't need 72 hours...I try to live this way of life all the time...have I learned anything ?...you bet I have...patience, kindness, wisdom, understanding, compassion...do I have a perfect record ?...not quite, yet, I try...it's a "must" to always try and very rewarding when I succeed

I commend you for trying to do this. I try myself, but I will admit that I fail because sometimes I look down on people that aren't living a life that God likes. It doesn't make me any bit better of a person. Thank you for the conviction, and I will try my best by the grace of God. Through his hand and through his power, I will do what I can.

Does it mean you don't enjoy of what is written all around with half truth and half lies just for the sake of the people who thinks and judged as if they know God all the time? Come on... be just on it. ;o)

I do this every day but I can't help myself from just taking it when fundies bash my faith. I have always said that when you bash your fellow Christians you are also effectively bashing Christianity. What do I do?
