Why cant I love anyone ? I am having such a personal struggle. I feel love for humans drain away from my heart and then my heart fills up again with love for Jesus. It feels as if my heart cant love Jesus and a man at the same tyme. Why does this love empty me of love for men and make me want to love Jesus even more than ever. I feel married to Him and not capable of marrying a man.

Sweetie, perhaps you have been blessed by being called. Ask Jesus for wisdom, knowledge discernment and his will for your life. Prayer can answer all things.

You're fearful of being hurt by real people, particularly men. "Loving Jesus" is a way of avoiding involvement or commitment in a real-world relationship. It's an old dodge; some people do this with animals, some with work, some with hobbies. You just happen to use Jesus. It will work for a while, but I think you should talk to someone, preferably a non-religious therapist. Good luck

I'm not trying to be funny but nuns have the same struggle. Maybe it is your calling :) It takes a very special kind of person to devote their life to Jesus.

Good luck, I hope you find the answer you are looking for.

sounds like humans have hurt you deeply but He never has. So what you feel is not abnormal. My advise to you is try and roll your troubles onto Him, don't try to overcome them yourself. Too many religious people make the mistake of working hard to overcome a problem or a sin in their life, If they succeed they can pat themselves on the back and take vain pride in thier work of the flesh. but if they can succeed in leaving that problem or sin at the foot of the cross then it is a work of the Spirit not hte flesh. thus it will give lsting results. not coming & going.

What you are experiencing is not very unusual. Apostle Paul wrote In 1 Corinthians 7 regarding marriage and staying unmarried:

"Now concerning virgins, I have no command of the Lord, but I give my opinion as one who by the Lord's mercy is trustworthy. I think that, in view of the impending crisis, it is well for you to remain as you are. Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be free. Are you free from a wife? Do not seek a wife. But if you marry, you do not sin, and if a virgin marries, she does not sin. Yet those who marry will experience distress in this life, and I would spare you that. I mean, brothers and sisters, the appointed time has grown short; from now on, let even those who have wives be as though they had none, and those who mourn as thought they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no possessions, and those who deal with the world as thought they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away....

If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his fiancée, if his passions are strong, and so it has to be, let him marry as he wishes; it is no sin. Let them marry. But if someone stands firm in his resolve, being under no necessity but having his own desire under control, and has determined in his own mind to keep her as his fiancée, he will do well. So then, he who marries his fiancée does well; and he who refrains from marriage will do better.

A wife is bound as long as her husband lives. But if the husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, only in the Lord. But in my judgment she is more blessed if she remains as she is...."

Seek God's wisdom on this matter. He may be trying to spare you the headaches of being joined to another fallen human being. Having such attitude goes against most cultures, but the fruit we bear for God will outlast anything in this world. Perhaps then if you remain unmarried you would be able to bear fruit for eternity more easily. I am not giving you a definite answer on this, but am simply giving you some food for thought and prayer.

Blessings,

Jack
