when you first tell someone you are a pagan/witch/druid/heathen/whatever?

The Universe came from nothing and so did you? All of the complex laws of the Universe came from noone? How could you be here to deny the existence of a God, if it were not for God? There would be nothing. Ignore the flaws and think of how atoms could have materialized into a living, breathing, thinking, intelligent being? I agree that the Bible and most religions are full of flaws, but those are just man-made religions. Blind belief in a dogmatic religion is one thing, but what about a power greater than ourselves? Did it occur to you that there are things that the human mind cannot comprehend? Do you think that our five senses can tell us everything about the Universe?

P.S. - The "Take a drink" thing is really old.

...as long as the gay person in question doesn't act on their gay impulses?

So you're saying that, if two gay men, for example, love each other, but are afraid of hell, they should never be together? They have to either be alone for the rest of their lives, or enter into a sham marriage with a woman they don't love and have no sexual interest in?

What kind of hell on earth would that be?

Luke 10:21-21 Jesus speaking, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things form the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. All things have been delivered to Me by Father, and no one knows who the Son is EXCEPT THE FATHER, AND WHO THE FATHER IS EXCEPT THE SON, AND THE ONE TO WHOM THE SON WILL REVEAL HIM."

1. I and my Father are one is a bold statement for starters!
2. Before Abraham was I AM is also bold, why do you think they took up stones to kill Him? They said He was making Himself out to be God.
3. Phillip speaking says, "show us the Father", Jesus speaking, "Phillip have I not been so long with you that you do not know who I am?"
4. Why He give a different answer to the Pharasees when they wanted to know about the Father? Instead, He tells them, "YOU NEITHER KNOW ME NOR MY FATHER. Why is He talking about Himself when they simply wanted to know about the Father? Hmm?

Why are you so trigger happy with the abuse reporting???

I mean really - why are you guys so gosh-darn sensitive???

You supposedly don't believe in any of this stuff....so what does it matter to you what we believe???

If someone told me SANTA CLAUS was alive and real and living in their heart, I wouldn't get so bent out of shape, so whiny-baby ultra-sensitive and report them for abuse to YAHOO Answers!

Would one of you losers please have the GUTS to tell me why your feelings get hurt so easily???

Is it the prospect of burning in HELL for all eternity that has you so on edge all the time?!?

Hey, my name is Phil.

Just a question for other, older Christians out there...

Are we supposed to follow the scripture of the Old Testament or not?

Or are we supposed to follow the New Testament and simply treat the old as "background information" (to see which prophecies are fulfilled etc. etc.)

Does a new covenant come with new rules, or does it merely add to the Old T.

Any thoughts appreciated,

Phil

When something comes along, totally unforseen, that plunges you into a dark night of the soul, is it a "meant to be" thing, or did you unwittingly attract it into your life. If I could understand the answer to this one I would be able to make a lot more sense of my life right now.

I'm not gay, but I just find it hard to believe that God would send someone to Hell based soley on that reason, ignoring the kind of person that they are. We are all sinners and if all sinners went to hell, there would be noone in Heaven.

I'm under the assumption that you're all to strive to be like Jesus, and to forgive people as he did, am I correct?

If not, what do you consider to be "christ-like"?

If so, shouldn't this mean that after you punish the first child, all the other children have to do to gain forgiveness of wrong-doing is apologize? After all, Jesus was punished for YOUR sins, so that you don't have to suffer the consequences of them if you ask for forgiveness, why can't you show the same to your children and others. Shouldn't you just forgive anyone of anything if they ask you? Shouldn't there be no consequence, just as there is no consequence for you?

Watch the answers. A crack addict will always start his answer with a comment about drugs. They will suggest that because of your question-"that is over their head"-that you are using drugs. Just about any question is over their head. What their unconscious goal is, is to displace their unhappiness and addiction on to others. So they look for any little "crack" they can get their foot into. Good luck guys. You will always get straight true advice from me. Quit drugs or kill yourself. You are hurting people who love you.

Why would God wait until the Qu'ran, 4500 years or so to reveal a creation that was before man?

Wasn't these creatures taken from Jewish fables?
Second Targum of Esther?

Why would God copy a fable wouldn't he know this was a fable?

Its forbidden in the Bible, yet most Christians eat it anyway. I'm Christian and I avoid Pork. The reason that I mostly avoid it is because pigs are smart and are anatomically very simliliar to humans. Those who have tasted human flesh say that it tastes identical to pork. To eat it would make me feel close to being a cannibal. I rarely eat meat, but when I do, I most stick to poultry and fish because of their lower intelligence and for health reasons.

"To allow ourselves to be dependent on some vast Thing created by the Merchants of Greed is madness. It is time to cut out what we do not need so we can live more simply and happily. Good food, comfortable clothes, serviceable housing, and true culture - those are the things that matter. The only way this can happen is by ordinary people - us - boycotting the huge multinational corporations that are destroying our Earth, and creating a new Age - an Age of Healing in place of the current Age of Plunder.

Self-sufficiency does not mean ’going back’ to the acceptance of a lower standard of living. On the contrary, it is the striving for a higher standard of living; for food that is fresh and organically grown and good; for the good life in pleasant surroundings; for the health of body and peace of mind that come with hard, varied work in the open air; and for the satisfaction that comes from doing difficult and intricate jobs well and successfully."

Just to clarify I'm a Muslim.

You say that Jesus is God and that he was born from Mary through a miracle (I agree with him being born from Mary through a miracle). Yet you say he is God's son and that Mary is God's wife. How can he be his own father? Does the whole "Trinity" concept make sense to you? If it does can you help me understand?

By the way I'm not trying to taunt you I just wanna know. Thanks.

Ralph came home drunk one night, slid into bed beside
his sleeping wife, and fell into a deep slumber.
He awoke before the Pearly Gates, where St.Peter said,
"You died in your sleep, Ralph."
Ralph was stunned. "I'm dead? No, I can't be! I've got
too much to live for. Send me back!
St. Peter said, "I'm sorry, but there's only one way you
can go back, and that is as a chicken."
Ralph was devastated, but begged St. Peter to send him
to a farm near his home.
