Hindus claim that their religion is monotheistic because all their gods are avatars of the same God; Christians claim that their religion is also monotheistic because Jesus, the Father and Holy Spirit are aspects of the same God. But even pagan gods emanated from Zeus or were part of the same divinity. So the question is, is it possible that polytheism (in this sense) and strict monotheism are compatible? Or, is it possible that Christians and Hindus like the idea of monotheism but try to reconcile their beliefs with strict monotheism and fail miserably?

Protestants complain that the RCC kept the Bible from the masses.

Now they read the Bible and each person has their own interpretation which leads to a new church or new group.

Then each group will call the other one a "non-Christian".

Happy now ??

Most "Christians" who don't share the same belief as me, will invariably just tell me I'm going to hell. It reminds me of a drunken fool who doesn't know what to say to his wife but just hits her in anger.

Why is it that JWs and Mormons say that Jesus isn't God when He said in John 8:58 "Before Abraham was I AM" -- the exact same thing that God said to Moses from the burning bush?

At one time man was immortal. Then something went wrong. Without some record we would never have a clue. I believe that Genesis is a message sent from the past to the present to tell people what went wrong and what can be done about it. I believe that I alone have discovered the meaning of an ancient document. I believe that a murder was commited in paradise. Nothing like that had ever happened before. As a punishment for that we were sentenced to death forever collectively. I know that there was a provision made to eventually receive clemency. I know several aborted attempts were made. The story of Jesus was one such attempt. The record of other attempts verify that my concept is true. The problem arizes because no human could replace Abel. Therefore universal law must be relied on. Murder is a legal issue. The answers lay in the requirements to legally received clemency in a capital case. If I am wrong and do not have your attention. Go ahead and die. Who cares. It is your choice.

1 - Pride - He resists the proud (those who do not need him or do not believe he even does exist) therefore they never have an experience with him.
2- Humility- Those who are humble (recognize they need one greater than themselves) he draws close to making himself known to them.

Our pride or humility proves the existance of God in that he is true to his word. Right?

In answering a question about Silver RavenWolf I have come across a few references to things that used to be on her website like what Witches do and do not do, a magical glossary, etc. Does any one have those? I'm really curious what those said since a lot of people had problems with them.

I don't have a religion as I'd like to think I'm open to a bit of all of them but I've always been interested in learning about other religions.
If you fell in love with someone who was of another religion, or like me had none at all, would you consider dating them or do you prefer staying withn your own? Love makes the world go round and it seems such a shame that if two people found each other like that they couldn't be together. What do you think?

Well this R&B singer asked me and two other people, with whom I'm doing a gospel play with, to be her background vocalists. I was kinda skeptical b/c all she does is secular music and the places she would be performing would be in jazz cafes and classy clubs etc., in which my bible study teacher told me I shouldn't go to those types of places. I myself am going to start my career in the gospel music industry. I told the other two that I wasn't sure and that my unsurity was probably God telling me not to do it. Should I go ahead and try it out? Would performing in those types of places really be bad?

Okay so long story short. I'm an atheist and my girlfriend is a catholic. She asked me a question the other day that I didn't know the answer to, but I am very interested in doing some research on.

What percentage of the population (world wide/U.S.?) believes in a god compared to those who don't believe in a god.

Does anyone know of any polls/websites that might have this information? Or anyone have an educated guess?

Thanks!

People who are against abortions can resume to never make one themselfs, but why do they make such a big case on what other women are doing? I think it's wrong too but forbitting it is even more wrong

Think about this situation: asume abortions are allowed only when rape or medical issues. You got raped, but you could not prove it and they didn't leyt you do an abortion when you found out you're pregnant with the guy who raped you. What then?
