there is a whole plethora of games like :
1) catch the camel spider!
2)the one who drinks the last water is the looser!
3) Hide and seek -my personal favor in the dessert(HI HI)
4) truth or dare ,who put the sand on my camel steak!
5) who sees the best mirage!
6) "guess the time when we will get to our destination" was an all time favorite because they all lost that one for 40 years!
yup ,the list goes on and on!

I think it would take more than 2 hours to walk from Egypt to Jericho, especially since there were old people and children in the group.
Somewhere around 39 of those 40 years were spent at a couple of oasises (oasi?), so there was a bit less roaming than most people think.

All sorts of things: marbles, shuffleboard, bowling, tennis, field hockey, all the cool things that work so well in the middle of all this sand! Aggh! It's everywhere!
One "game" was absolutely forbidden. After six months, it was death to say: "Are we there yet?"

I watched a show where they investigated the 'history' of the bible.
The place it took them 40 years to get to could be reached in less than a 2 hour walk - how could they have a sense of direction THAT bad???

Maybe they spent 40yrs hunting gold with pans and metal detectors like my father does. That would explain why a bunch of slaves could have so much gold that they could make a calf out of it.
