Most "Christians" who don't share the same belief as me, will invariably just tell me I'm going to hell. It reminds me of a drunken fool who doesn't know what to say to his wife but just hits her in anger.

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about:

Can anyone show me what scripture in the bible says that I'm going to hell if I don't believe that Jesus is God?

I seem to remember it saying that I must have faith in Jesus as our SAVIOUR, in order to be "saved"? Not that we must believe in the Trinity.

Just for the record, I am willing to listen to other people...IF they give me good reason to. My question was not an arrogant "bight" back, but to make people think about what being a Christian is all about...helping others, lovingly showing them the truth, not blatantly telling them their going to hell (that's downright immature and tactless).

Wondering Faith - Those who evangelize (go around the doors) are trying to HELP others to an accurate knowledge of God so that they can have salvation. Their intent is not to say that everyone is going to die.

malak – The fact that you believe I’m arrogant just shows you’re judgmental / cynical nature, just like the ones who say I’m going to hell. People who KNOW me will tell you I’m actually quite insecure / shy, far from arrogant.

I don't know why a couple of people (e.g. Snowbunny) are trying to psychologically analyze my question and find alternative motives, it's a question; you’re supposed to answer it.

The ones that say this to you are being judgmental. Just because you don't believe the same way that they do, doesn't give them the right to judge you and tell you that you are going to hell. That is like saying someone is a retard because they don't wear glasses. No offense to anyone who reads this. It's just a type of comparison. They should just accept you as you are and not be so judgmental. They are also being immature.

Most Christians, huh? Wow, you must know a lot of people. I use a different approach, personally, when I even get into a conversation about religion with someone. I have found this message board to have very few people who want to actually discuss religion...and very many who just want to take whacks at other religions,er umm, well at the people who have a religion different from their own.

"Just for the record, I am willing to listen to other people...IF they give me good reason to. My question was not an arrogant "bight" back, but to make people think about what being a Christian is all about...helping others, lovingly showing them the truth, not blatantly telling them their going to hell (that's downright immature and tactless)."

This is an excerpt from your growing 'question'. If you want the truth and loving answers then you should ask a question with some integrity. Christians are just people, not perfect, and get tired of taking abuse just like anyone else.

Also, if you only listen to those who give you good reason to...maybe you should take your own advice in asking questions. People are only going to answer questions seriously if they are asked with the objective of being enlightened. It is obvious to me when questions are asked with malice; to pick a fight. To see someone go back and then whine about the answers they get is a cop out.

Dear Paul. Do not worry about what others think. The only important thing is your relationship with your heavenly father.
You most likely will go to Hell but so will every one else.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the dead are conscience of nothing.
Acts 2; 27,21&32 Jesus was raised from Hades (hell) after he was murdered.
Hell , Hades ,Gehenna are he bibles names for the grave.
If you understand the bible it is the waiting place for the resarection to life on earth after the battle of Armagetton.
Instead of worrying about what others say feel sorry for them as they are still brainwashed by these so call Christian Religions who don't even follow God , his Son Jesus or the bible they don't even relalize there god is Satan.
2 Corinthians 4:4.

I agree with "annoy" - that is the answer I thought of off the top of my head.

Many are in a box of what they are taught. A paradigm that is full of judgment and fear.

They have a need to feel superior or chosen or whatever. God's people have to work hard not to fall into this thought trap that is blatantly and subtly taught by many groups.

God loves each and everyone of his children - He may hate what we think and do - that is the purpose of salvation brought by Jesus.

We recognize our error - we accept God forgives us - we work for God Almighty rather than self or man.

So when they say this - think... God love em - they are sick and misled.

I think that there is a little bit of Jonah in all of us. We do not want to take the message to the people we do not like. The message is that God loves you. He loves you so much that He gave His only begotten son to deliver the message so that everyone knows that heaven is for them.

I am not a righteous judge. God is. He loves us all equally and He keeps His Word. He wants to do business with you, but He does not NEED you the same way we NEED Him. I have grown to love Him and His message makes sense. I do not have to understand everything: John 3:16 is the message He wants out.

No one can say that you are going to Hell...No one can say what another persons position with God is. The bible is plain on this...I think the first 2 books of Romans are about this very thing.

I am a Christian and do not/have not told any one they are going to hell. That is not up to me where one other than myself spends eternity. I have made my choice for eternity as was my God given free will right to do. I only encourage everyone who has not chosen to get all the information they can before they make their choice as it is a choice which carries eternal consequences. It is certainly not enjoyable to think about anyone going to hell for eternity, as a matter of fact it is very painful to think of.

I don't enjoy it. In fact, I am praying for you and hope that you will not go to hell. I do this because I realize that I am every bit as deserving of going to hell (maybe MORE) than you. It's only by God's grace that I am not headed there, and I pray He will show you the same grace.

It might .. just might

have something to do with your belief that anyone who is not a member of your "religion" will not be saved in the "new system"

Those in glass houses really should not throw stones

"Those who evangelize (go around the doors) are trying to HELP others to an accurate knowledge of God so that they can have salvation. Their intent is not to say that everyone is going to die."

but that doesnt change the fact that you believe that everyone other than you is going to die... its a tad arrogant ... .. you could be right I honestly dont know .. but to answer your question .. that belief is prob. why people are telling you you are going to Hell

"you're going to Hell- WOOO, PAR-TAY"

that was a joke,

seriously, i don't know why. as I Christian i've never told someone they're going to Hell. That's just mean. I've said while watching tv and seeing child murderers " i hope he rots in Hell", but that's different.
