They can't. How can you prove the unprovable? Most trinitarians don't know what the trinity is. They are quick to run to John 1:1, 8:58 and 10:30. But how could these scriptures even remotely prove a trinity when none of them even mentions THREE "persons." After all, "tri" in "trinity" means THREE.

One scripture that backfires in the face of trinity believers is 2 Cor. 13:14. In that verse, it mentions "the Lord Jesus Christ, God, and the holy spirit." But is this evidence of the trinity? Let's count to see how many "persons" are there? Jesus--ONE person. The holy spirit--ONE person. God (Father, Son, holy spirit)--THREE persons. So, that's ONE +ONE+THREE=FIVE persons. Isn't the trinity THREE persons? Yes. So where's the trinity at 2 Cor. 13:14? NOWHERE!

As hard as one may search, there is NO scripture that says the Father, Son, and holy spirit are co-equal, co-eternal, almighty, and that they all make one God. The trinity is more than just a mystery. It's just plain stupid.

Elaine, if God's children can understand the trinity completely, why don't you give us some Bible proof of the trinity so we can be enlightened?

The trinity is not mysterious, it refers to many aspects of the universe not just the Father, Son & Holy spirit.

It also refers to mind, body & spirit; physical, non-physical & metaphysical; id, ego & superego; conscious, subsonscious & superconscious; energy, matter & anti-matter.

Time is also divided by 3: past, present & future.

Space can also be divided by 3 as well: here, there & the space between.

There are also 3 energies: thoughts, words and actions.

It all depends on how you personally interpret it =)

Did I not answer this question b4? I'll check.

EDIT
Yes, I sure did. My answer now is the same as then, minus the comments on 2 of the other responses: Since God wants us to draw close to him (James 4:8) and he is not far off from us (Acts 17:26-27), an all powerful and omniscient God has no difficulty making himself known to us in clear straightforward, undisguised terms.
In addition I'd like to quote the 2 excellent scriptures bambi paraphrased but could not cite their location in the Bible.
John 4:22-23 YOU worship what YOU do not know; we worship what we know, because salvation originates with the Jews. Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. Jesus spoke these words to the Samaritan woman he met at a well. How humble she was! She did not become offended when Jesus told her that her way of worship was not correct! After saying this, Jesus pointed out the importance of worshiping in harmony with truth
The other verse is: 2 Timothy 1:13 "Keep holding the pattern of healthful words that you heard from me with the faith and love that are in connection with Christ Jesus." This pattern remains the same today. Apostate Christianity formed new patterns that included pagan forms of worship after the first century and the death of Jesus' apostles.

All nontrinitarians take the position that the doctrine of the earliest form of Christianity was not Trinitarian. Typically, nontrinitarians explain that Christianity was altered as a direct and indirect consequence of the edicts of Constantine the Great, which resulted in the eventual adoption of Trinitarian Christianity as the official religion of the Roman Empire. Because it was at this time of a dramatic shift in Christianity's status that the doctrine of the Trinity attained its definitive development, nontrinitarians typically find the doctrine questionable. It is in this light that the Nicene Creed is seen by nontrinitarians as an essentially political document, resulting from the subordination of true doctrine to State interests by the leaders of Catholic Church, so that the church became, in their view, an extension of the Roman Empire.

Although Nontrinitarian beliefs continued to multiply, and among some people (such as the Lombards in the West) it was dominant for hundreds of years afterward, the Trinitarians gained the immense power of the Roman Empire. Nontrinitarians typically argue that the primitive beliefs of the Christianity were systematically suppressed (often to the point of death), and that the historical record, perhaps also including the Scriptures of the New Testament, was altered as a consequence.

There ARE no scriptures that "prove" anything remotely resembling a "trinity" . Some trinitarians refer to passages that say something along the lines of Jesus and God being one ........... although that`s meant "one in purpose" , or "of the same mind"

God and Jesus are two entirely separate entities !

If they were one and the same as trinitarians suggest .......... then WHO resurrected Jesus after his death ???

It will remain untrue no matter what christians say or do. The bible is ambiguous at best on the subject and that is why Jesus made it crystal clear in The Apocryphon of John that He and The Holy Spirit were created and NOT equal to God. Be smart, believe Jesus and The Holy Spirit, not christians.

See..that is the beauty of having the Holy Spirit reside in you..If you have it..then you understand it fully and there is no mystery about it..Its sooo beautiful and so simple...

Why do you try to quote scriptures to disprove it?? YOu question or statement makes no sense.

Because the verses only apply if you add the mystery quotient. Here are the verses, now apply a little 'mystery', then squint your eyes, and now there you go.... the Trinity.
