A bible thumper in my family informed me that Catholics are not Christian. I laughed. A Christian in my opinion is a person who believes in Jesus Christ and accepts him as their savior. Last time I checked...Catholics believed that.

I posted a question that was supposed to be a response to similar questions I've seen recently posed to atheist. I wanted to show the authors how their questions look to us.

My point was missed, sorry.

I came across this proof from Descartes, and it is interesting, take a look:

1. I think, therefore I am.
2. I cannot be mistaken about the ideas that I have.
3. There can never be more objective reality in the effect (i.e., the idea) than there is formal reality in the cause (i.e., object of the idea).
4. I have an idea of perfection or infinite substance.
5. My idea of perfection is the most objectively real idea that I have.
6. The only possible formal cause of that idea is infinite substance.

Therefore, God must exist.

It is pretty sound from a logical standpoint, and although I know you're not supposed to disagree with Descartes, I think that his fourth step is a fallacy, because it is impossible for the human mind to comprehend infinity, and therefore perfection.

However, I was wondering if anyone knows of a proof mathematical/logical or otherwise of the existence or lack of God(s). Logical answers only please, thanks!

If "God" is triune, did Jesus include himself when he used the word "God"? If yes, why Jesus prayed to himself and did not want to be called "good"? If no, why was it not triune for him?

There's a case about it in England right now. Dentist wouldn't treat a female patient without a headscarf, and made her put one on to get treatment.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=482112

If you don't think this should have happened, would you support a doctor's, dentist's, or pharmacist's right to treat or not treat based on their religious principles? (For example, not giving a gay man Cialis or filling a birth control pill prescription for a single woman?)

And what is your religion?
