... that it's "God's will" or "God's plan" or something?

I often hear relgious people make this claim. It helps them rationalize the problem of evil. Because since everything is created by God, and he is presumably all good then what about evil? Ah yes it is the absence of God that is why we have evil. Like all creationist propaganda we must perform taught experiments to see if this makes moral sense.
Situation - A woman gets off work and she is walking down the street towards her house. A man pulls out a knife - drags her into an alley, beats he, rapes her, and kills her. It was a lack of God that caused this abhorrent event to take place? His actions were caused because he had a lack of God? Perhaps she did too? If this is true then God is a malnelovent S.O.B. - He is not a God of love, he`s a totalitarian dictator. No? Well then is it b/c of the Devil? Yes! Well I thought that Evil was a lack of God? Perhaps the devil is a lack of God? Ok, therefore he is not a serparate evil being after all. He is just a lack of God.

If there are an infinite number of universes, then on some of them God must exist purely on statistical terms. If God exists in even one universe, as the Supreme Being of all Creation, then it would follow that He would transcend just that one universe and in fact have created them ALL. Perhaps the universes where He is not are just part of Hell?

Don't find any reason to believe any of it? Would Christians then recommend abandoning reason in order to "believe"?

BTW this is exactly the experience of many atheists.

We are NOT God. I am sick and tired of people taking Bible verses out of context to make it look bad. The Bible is the word of God and we should have faith and put our faith in Him.

Agree? It is not our place to question.

A global shower of flaming Meteors (ranging in size from a golf ball to a house) sets one-third of the green grass, vegetation and crops of earth on fire. (Rev:8:8).

An Asteroid (large chunk of comet, one mile in diamater) will crash into the sea and cause a massive Tidal Wave, turrential flooding and more famine (Rev:8:9)

I grew up Southern Baptist and i believe this relegion is way to strict on things that don't matter, i am a devoted christian and want to change to be Episcapol but i don't know if it's wrong to allow bits and pieces of other relegions into your dominant relegion...
Christanity is not made up from other relegions and neither is any other relegion... everyone has their own point of view and no one should shun or bring down anyone who isn't the same relegion the other person is. I don't nessasrly believe in anything way diffrent other than Christianity but i do believe in some point of views that Wiccans have, like i don't think that man is over animals, and i believe that nature is VERY important to us, and i believe that man and woman are equal. but i don't consider myself a Wiccan. is this worng?

The other day at school, I heard some atheist and agnostic people talking about how stupid christians are. How we think the earth has only been around for 12,000 years, and how christians don't believe in dinasaurs or anything like that.
I know that the earth has been around for millions of years.
I believe in evolution.

It made me pretty mad. I didn't know what to say back.

I know that atheists don't believe in God, but do they have to make the people that do feel so stupid?

You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky

You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

I didn't have any kind of way to contact you. But you had responded to a question that I posted. Out of all the answers that I received yours mimicked the most the way that I use to feel. I use to feel as if people that were in the church were being brainwashed and fanatics therefore I would not go that often. But as I got older I began to see that maybe that particular church was not for me. Then also I began to see that with anything else, that there was some false people out there that was misleading. You also commented that most Christians are shocked by how sinful everyone in the world is. Well, maybe the churches that you had been to were the ones that had the perfect people in them but I know that the churches that I have been to know that none of us are perfect or without sin. Changing my life was the best thing that I have done and it has gotten SO much better. I can't apologize for others that left a bad taste but everone is not alike. We do have good music(inside joke) lol.

Okay, I'm interested, Christians, why did you choose God over Satan? I mean, the Bible tells the story of God killing 2,270,369+ people and Satan killing 10, and in lue with God... and even these he shares with God, since God allowed him to do it as a part of a bet... the seven sons and three daughters of Job. and the only person the Bible tells you to believe is God... but why would someone trust a person (do this and i'll give you xzy... in this case, eternal life) who, in America, would possibly be sentanced to death 2,270,369+ times, when you would never take the threats of say, an Islamic extremist and they seem to be proving their point in the same way - why did you choose God, not Satan?

In this figure "No attempt was made to include the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc., with which the good book is filled."

Why is it considered saintly for a Christian Nun to cover-up and be modest in her attire but it is considered oppressive if a Muslim women is modest and covered-up?
For Muslim women it is respecting their God when they don't wear promiscuous clothing that show thongs and have purposes to attract men, same with Nuns.
