Psychology Today had an interesting article called "Ten Politically Incorrect Truths about Human Nature". Number four on the list was "Most Suicide Bombers are Muslim". The article points out two ingredients in Islamic culture, the first being polygyny:

"polygyny increases competitive pressure on men, especially young men of low status. It therefore increases the likelihood that young (muslim) men resort to violent means to gain access to mates."

"The other key ingredient is the promise of 72 virgins waiting in heaven for any martyr in Islam. The prospect of exclusive access to virgins may not be so appealing to anyone who has even one mate on earth, which strict monogamy virtually guarantees. However, the prospect is quite appealing to anyone who faces the bleak reality on earth of being a complete reproductive loser."

I am sick of the whole frigging world fighting over what they think GOD said.

If the dude is so divine why hasn't he slapped down whoever was wrong and just put an end to all this crap?

Since he hasn't .... he doen't exist.

Cause in my opinion, if he DOES exist and is watching all this hes one sick SOB and doesn't deserve to be worshiped by ANYONE.

I refuse to think I am a pawn in some divine game. Yet everyone is sucked into the whole damn religion thing.

Can't even cure illnesses because of someones GOD... THAT is sad.

What if he gave you the way to fix things but you refuse to see it?

being a god living eternity?
death a release?

this question, so hell is full of pain and suffering for eternity - how long before you become desencetised.....the pain becoming a constant and the norm....... and you are no longer suffering?

If you have only pain, joy is gone, how do you measure pain what is their to compare it too. After millenims you life here would be forgotton. Your pain would ease as you will forget happiness.

And would this not apply to heaven, would constant joy and happiness over the milleniums become taken for granted & not as joyous as when you first entered the pearly gates....therefore becoming mundain and the norm.

Then would this lead to Purgatory being the best place to go next, neither heaven nor hell, ... but waiting to get to either hell or heaven giving you another release to look forward to. Neither as joyous as heaven or as painful as hell open to more balance.

The height of your joy can only be measure from the depth of your sorrow

God is for all and is word is being sold on the internet as you would a car. I think its an abomination and these people need not think to enter the kingdom of heaven. It says in those same scriptures that they peddle that it would be easier for a camel to pass through an eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Do you agree with me?

I mean God told us not to worship Pagan Gods and here we are using Pagan symbology to worship God.

Christmas trees, the fish symbol, eggs, stars, crosses, the robes of priests, baptism, marriage, paintings and icons, the praying position, the position of arms raised to give thanks, the last word of the bible Amen (roots in Egyptian Gods), Sunday (day of worship is the day of the sun), the chalice, The trinity, Christmas (falls on the a day of celebration of many Pagan Gods from rome to Scandanavia and is also the winter solstice), holly, mistletoe, being born of a virgin (Attis).

Is Christianity just Paganism in disguise? Is it just a streamlined version of worship where we worship all the Gods in one? Instead of worshipping Monday to Friday we can do it all on Sundays and a few special holidays.

I mean nobody has seen any of them so aren't they all just as valid as one another?
Muslims believe in Allah just as much as Buddhists or Hindus believe in their Gods and pagans believe in their Gods, and the Greeks believed in Zeus etc and the Romans believed in Jupiter etc and Christians believe in Christ and God.

divinity. This is christians main article of faith. You'd think they'd know while Jesus was with them or did Jesus never say such a thing?

There are contradictions. Some think it's symbolic, while others take every word literally. Science and the Bible clash on major issues. There are various translations and, in some religions, even new translations that try to fit more current circumstances. Different versions contradict each other. When I read the bible, I can appreciate the writing, but I can't get past the fact that it was written by men with conflicting memories of Jesus. I know, for instance, that history can be changed in an instant with pen and ink. What have you been told that makes you believe without proof?

Take the Ten Commandments.

I am the Lord your God.... you shall have no other Gods before me.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,

I mean this suggests to me that there are other Gods. God even admits that he is jealous of them. He wants to be number one on the block.

Does this therefore suggest that Buddhists, and Hindus and other religions worship real Gods too?

This is upsetting to say the least. I have learned that at times it is better to listen than to speak. So, I shall push my atheistic rants to the side (for now) - and will ask in all modesty - if you can "Please" explain this to me?
