Israel. That's what it is. There has never been a country called Palestine. The land of Israel was re-named Palestinae to degrade the Jews when the Romans got at them...then when the Ottomans took it over, it remained Palestine, a territory. Now it is Israel, a country again. Maybe one day soon there will be a Palestine.

Israel is a People Palestine is a land. Israel turned its back on God and for that lost the land. If you consider the fact that the "modern nation" of Israel came about by deception and violence I doubt it measures up to the restoration of Israel we read of in the Bible.

The original name was Canaan. Then Israel. Then israel and judea after King Solomon's reign. It was called Judea by the Romans until the Jews were expelled and then they called it philistia (palestine) as an insult to the jews. there has never been an independent nation of palestine. In 1948, the state of Israel was created.
In short....Israel is the proper name of the region.

According to History....(3,000-2,500 BC) in the Early Bronze age. Canaanites arrived and settled in Palestine, Cannanites are Arabs....in ca,1,250...Israeli conquest of Canaan...in 928 the division of the Israelite state into the kingdom of Israel and Judah.....So, Israeli were not the first people to live in Palestine. as they claim...
in 1971 the Belfour declaration - UK foreign minister- declared that UK supports establishing a Jewish state in Palestine....
It was Palestine until May, 14 1948......Israel was established on the blood of the innocent people who were living in Israel before, they killed alot of them and forced them to become refugees.....over 4 million Palestinian refugees around the world, and I am one of them....
Most Israeli people who live in Israel came from other countries as immigrants, and 99% came seeking a better life....if the land was empty I would say,,"it's fine", but this land was full of people who lived thousands of years in Palestine...and I think nobody had any right to kill these people and force them to leave their homes.....
So, u tell me is it Palestine or Israel?

Neither.
Our loving Universe Creator Father God Jesus Christ made every solar system, many with inhabited worlds, and all persons and things in this large universe. Our little planet earth is just one of millions of them. No mere nations or states are shown on our Father God's map of earth. It is as we now see from our space images, a pretty, blue planet with white clouds. Each of the 6.5 billion divine-human sons of God now living on earth is granted by our God Jesus Christ full divine-human rights to live as a world citizen and to reject the so ungodly nationalistic fights over human control of "their land" or "my land". All the world is made by Jesus and belongs to Jesus !
How many more terrible wars will it take to have all humans repent of their sins against Jesus Christ's rightful Sovereign Rule of all ? Not too many more. Count the costs. God will save NO countries ! He saves individual humans ! There are no countries or states now ascended up into Heaven or Paradise ! Humans and other persons are ! Will you be too?
Now to AD2012 should be very interesting politically, and now to about AD2030 should be even more interesting spiritually. Love your enemies as Jesus here in Spirit teaches, or more ungodly destruction will certainly come --from unspiritual mankind, not from God Who is infinite love and mercy upon all humans and too all humans.
God has ordained that one planetary earth government OF ALL Humans and BY ALL Humans and FOR ALL Humans must come --or total nuclear wars destruction is guaranteed. We all must soon choose to Be Godlike or to be not ...
Christians, or world-be Christians, should read carefully and believe in the Bible John 12:32 and John 16:7-16 and Rev 21:3-7
No more Palestine, no more Israel, just the land East of the Mediterranean Sea and also occupied by Spirit of God-led Jesusonian Divine-Humans. See ? You will ! This is God's will.
Peace and progress,
Brother Dave, a Jesusonian Christian Truthist

Palestine finally died out in 1948. It was a Roman name for the land of Israel. You can't expect the Jews to continue a foreign name on their country can you?
As did the word Siam, which became Thailand, and Persia that became Iran.
EDIT: Canaanites are not Arabs. LOL. Any one who says that needs a REAL HISTORY lesson. Canaanites were people like : jebusites, midianites, hivvites, etc. These are mentioned in the Bible. Arabs are not even mentioned in the Bible because until te invention of Islam, the Arabs were just a loose confederation of nomadic tribes in the Arabian Peninsula. Another thing- Philistines are not Palestinians. They are people from the Aegean island of Crete who migrated to the Levant coast. Anyone giving me a thumbs down has no sense of history and logic.

It's Israel - learn about the origins of the term Palestine,
"The word itself derives from "Peleshet", a name that appears frequently in the Bible and has come into English as "Philistine". The Philistines were mediterranean people originating from Asia Minor and Greek localities."

It is Israel, look on a map. In 135 ad a Jewish man named BarKokba led a rebellion against the Romans. It was a terrible fight in which Israel lost but did so much damage to the Romans that the Romans expelled them from the land of Israel, and in order to make it odious to the Jews they ordered the land to be renamed Palestine after the Philistines, a perpetual enemy of Israel. That name persisted during the almost 2000 years of the Jewish diaspora but now that Israel is back in the Land and a Nation since 1948 they have every right to put the proper name back on it.
