Have you ever noticed that Snoopy from Charlie Brown/Peanuts is the awesomest dog in the world?

What makes you believe what you believe? What makes you think that you have the right religion? How do you feel about Christians who are rude and mean and just totally contradict everything that Christianity is about???

Is there a spell I could cast to bring the romance back into my relationship? It's not that my relationship is bad or anything, it's just that with all of our adult responsibilities, honestly, we hardly have time for it anymore. We are so tired coming home from work, that all we want to do is sleep, or chill.
I understand the rule of three, so I would prefer nothing that messes with free will. Just something general, that might help me with my problem. Thanks a bunch! Blessed be. :o) (and please don't tell me to pray for it, that doesn't work). . .thanks. ..:o)

Does this apply to everyone, and all aspects of life?

Does it apply to report button stalkers? Man, I hope so.

...views of reality, so as to help alleviate the use of platitudes:

Atheist: Does not believe in any gods. Denies, however, that he believes there are no gods. However,

disbelief in gods=belief that there are no gods.

To say that this is not true is a violation of the law of identity in logic.

[mono]theist: believes in God, and also does not believe in no God. The fact that we don't usually use double negatives in English does not negate the fact that,

disbelief in no God=belief that there is a God.

While I do not believe atheism is a religion, a violation of one of the fundamental laws of logic is not the way to prove this.

And so this is a question, what do you think of this?

George Grant, was Executive Director of Coral Ridge Ministries for many years and is a dominionist author and educator. He wrote in The Changing of the Guard, Biblical Principles for Political Action:

Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ -- to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.

But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.

It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.

It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.

It is dominion we are after.

World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less... Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land -- of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ. (pp. 50-51)

How do mainstream Christians justify allowing openly gay people to become ordained clergy, when the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin punishable by death?

2007-09-24 07:11:40 · 20 answers · asked by Syed 1

where does the original sin fit?

If Noah was a good man - why didn't the original sin die with all the bad people?

Why didn't god cancel the punishment for humanity (pains of childbirth, hard work) since all those who sinned died?

Now, in a most spiritual manner, and yes, some of you catholics and jews can come in as well, would you care to join me for lunch? We are having pork chops,( well, for our Judaic friends, some fried chicken) , with a side of grits piled high with a whole stick of butter melting on top. A mess of hush puppies and some greens, collard greens, been steaming in the kitchen all day, with bits of salt jawl and a pinch of paprika. Cover the whole lot with a drizzling of red-eye gravy and for desert, aunt fireballs delicious cobbler. Apples, cinnamon, a smattering of blueberries, and half a package of red-hots. To wash it all down with, we have some ice cold lemonade (adults and atheists, join me by the shed for a shot of vanilla vodka). Now, you fundamentalists, if you would like to join us for lunch, then praise be. But, really, I know you prefer the company of "strangers"

Christian scholar Rt. Rev. George Arthur Butterick, in The Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible, a book written by to prove the validity of the New Testament, states:

"A study of 150 Greek [manuscripts] of the Gospel of Luke has revealed more than 30,000 different readings.... It is safe to say that there is not one sentence in the New Testament in which the [manuscript] is wholly uniform."

This is not a swipe at any particular religion, just the truth. Why, in all these years, have all the patients there (mostly court ordered) been church going folks? I did actually meet two Wiccans, but they were counselers.

This is a new thought that was put into my mind while watching a Discovery Channel show on Gamma Ray Bursts. A single Gamma Ray Burst from a dying start can completely incinerate a hole in our atmosphere, allowing the full force of the sun to hit the Earth over a given amount of time...When it happens it will completely white out the sky for a pretty good while, and then over a short time the Sun will begin to heat up the Earth. Anyone want to venture a guess as to how long they believe it would take to destroy 1/3 of the Earths life/vegetation ( green grass)? Around 3 and half years (a.e. the first part of the tribulation when everyone is being tricked by the son of perdition....That means that a Gamma Ray Burst could happen at the Rapture, we are all called up to be with him, then everyone here will be left. There was always a question as to what would cause 1/3 of the grass and all this stuff to happen, but it seems we finally have a decent hypothesis.

It may sound like a silly question but I actually don't get it. Is it just a way they remind you that they are christians and very religious people?

Ever since Lughnasadh (Lammas) and especially now around the equinox I suffer from depression every year. I can just feel everything dying, ebbing away, I can feel the life force diminishing and the darkness creeping in.
I have a feeling that every year I deal with this more and more difficult.
Is anybody affected in a similar way? What do you do/suggest?
