It depends on God and the priest.

Hell is the state of complete and final self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed, reserved for those who refuse by their own free choice to believe and be converted from sin, even to the end of their lives

God extends mercy to anyone who repents and come back to Him, just as the father forgave and took the Prodigal Son back.

If a priest goes to confession with a contrite heart and asks for forgiveness, God forgives him. If a priest does not so this, he is not forgiven. This sin is serious enough to completely separate him from God.
