as your savior only until facing a life and death situation ?

I read in someones answer that Christ died for everyone - not just christians. If that is true, why do christians try to convert me and other non-believers? If I can have the benefits of forgiveness and salvation, why convert and believe in fairytales?

Christians - I understand your faith, really I do.

I don't believe it -

Why do SOME Christians continue to play the victim on YA? What is with all of these questions wondering why "everyone is against you." Nothing could be further from the truth.

I think most of us here can agree that each person is responsible for and entitled to believe what they find true.
Why do some people, Christians especially, think that they can judge what another person believes?

Why are there so many unbelievers out there when the Truth has been given and is avaliable to all. It seems they will put alot of effort trying to disprove something they do not believe. Give me your thoughts and back it up with scripture.

I am a Christian and don't understand why people come on here to bash christianity. For example I accept all people no matter what religion. If someone wrote something about the jewish religion, muslim, or whatever religion I would not comment on their question with something dumb and challenging their faith or religion. I'm noticing the increase in Christian bashers though and don't understand why. Every person who has something dumb to say gets their facts from non credible sources. If you are going to comment on the bible read the bible from front to back and make your own decision not by a third or fourth party source or some really dumb website. Now its not just christians getting bashed but for every religion. For people on here who make comments on other peoples religions and mock them or find inaccuracies with it, at least we believe in something and have some moral standard.

Women use words as their powerful weapon. A man responds with his weapon. He usually tries everything else to end the verbal aggression.
Come on ladies admit you like to degrade a man when he doesn't show you attention. Just tell him you want attention.
Is that the difference in an abused woman and a healthy relationship?

I want views on this.

In my opinion, theology is neither a field of knowledge nor does it teach any skill.
When I say field of knowledge, I mean, science, mathematics, history, social science, etc.

and knows what is going to happen. Why did he flood the earth then give it another go KNOWING that it would end up sinful again? Do not say free will as this is irrelevant. If HE KNOWS what will happen then why repopulate the earth and try again? And for that matter why does a perfect being have to have more than one go at making mankind?

1. Many "hardcore" Christians typically hold right-wing conservative viewpoints...
2. Right-wing conservatives tend to shy away from taking a stand on protecting the environment.

How is pissing all over God's great Earth OK? Shouldn't the conservative Christians want to protect the Earth that God gave to them from harm? Why is it taking the religious leaders (from every different sect) so long to get behind protecting the environment? Am I missing something?

I recognize that this is a general question and that not EVERYONE fits this mold. However, I would bet my left nut that more often than not, this stereotype fits...

Do we ever give our kids a good chance to decide whether or not they truly believe in something or do we instill our own values onto them? It seems that many religions force their beliefs onto the children of that religion. So where is the free will there? Are people "born into" a religion or do they choose?

Maybe I'm missing something here. "Enlighten" me.

A special advanced notice for this rare
occurrence of 2 moons in the sky on August 27, 2007 :

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night
sky starting August.**
It will look as large as the full moon to the
naked eye. This will happen on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in
>*2287*.**
Four of the planets can be compared to the four horseman of the Apocalypse, one of the visions predicted for the future in Revelation. These 4 horsemen are predicted to ride during an apocalyptic period with wars, weather changes, earthquakes, plagues, economic disaster, etc. The horsemen are:
red horse, whose rider has a sword -- war. This must be Mars, the red planet symbolizing war. And note that in October 2005 Mars was near its brightest as seen from earth, possibly indicating war in 2007-2010..August 28, 2007. A lunar eclipse..War.

For about the millionth time I just saw another post indicating that Christians are hypocrites and certainly that shows proof enough to debunk Christianity as a whole . The old game of " Hey , look over here , I just saw a Christian sinning" . And of course what follows is that person's assertion that Christianity must be false because that Christian guy just did something un-Christian . HOGWASH , and I'll explain why .
Christians are not above sin . We all sin . Christians and non-Christians alike . The difference being that we are 'supposed' to recognize our sins and repent from them . We don't get it perfect and sometimes really mess it up , but because an individual screws-up doesn't make his Christian religion any less of a true entity .

I'm just wondering . . . . How Many Atheists Can Understand That ?
Or. . .Is It Your Goal To Destroy Christianity ?
