I'm not saying that the Bible is wrong, or that Christianity is bad. It just seems that any interpretation of the Bible which is consistent with common sense, would have to be allegorical, and not literal.

Will i spend eternity with God if i take my own life? I'm in so much pain, have recently lost my small family ( mom cancer and brother killed by drunk driver ) I'm so depressed and cant deal with life. I have lost everything due to my depression, after living a normal God loving life, i'm now at the end..can't take any more pain. Have been homeless for months, and its all to much for me to handle. I just want peace, and want to be with my family again. I have given my soul to God, but my answers for peace have gone unanswered. Cant find work, shelterand food is a struggle everyday. I'm not a drinker or drug user, just depressed and about to give up. I love god and pray every day he will guide me. Will he take me with him if i take my own life? Pray for me. And for those who will say..."homeless and on a computer", i'm at a library..the only place i can find some sort of peace and rest...again please pray for me.

I've found many folks from many different groups have a pretty good sense of humor about most things, but there is one in particular that just ... takes everything SOOOOO seriously.

so where does the bible say birds come from?

Does God use these human inventions, or are these sites, by definition, a symptom of lack of faith in God's ability to pair us with the one we are designed to be with?

If as many of you answer in other questions, you are no longer human when you get to heaven, then what do you think you will be? Will you have memories? Obviously not, if you will have no worries about those left behind. So how will you meet up again with loved ones? Will you be able to think? Thinking produces memories, so again, the answer has to be no. Without thought or any awareness of ourselves, we are nothing.
Sounds like just being dead to me.

Ok this is not my question but a question I picked up from one of the other questions on here!

I was wondering if any Christians can answer for this person. I will do my best very briefly here (not enough room for my whole answer)!....
God does not like what is happening on earth. God is not causing all the hate and deaths. MANKIND is. I don't have all the answers as I am only human. God wants US to be like Him/Jesus. He wants us to love one another and help one another. God CAN intervene sometimes and we can do this through prayer and action. It is up to US to want to change the world, to NOT sin. God gave US His Son so that we might know the truth..

He loves all of you and I truly believe that everyone who writes hateful responses or questions, are not bad people, just misguided about their actions. PLEASE people, get saved and accept Jesus before you pass away and cannot do it, or before He returns. He is giving tons of warnings out of love, to make a place for you. Don't blow it by believing the rest of the worldly lies that He does not exist. HE DOES! you were made in His image so you should know in your hearts. you need no other proof,that is a lie told to you. I mean all of this out of love, so please do not get angry at me. Greeks believed earthquakes were caused by Titans trying to break out of the underground prison created for them by Zeus. People don't believe that.

Polynesians believed rainwater was the tears of the god of the heavens, heartbroken at being separated from his beloved, the goddess of the earth. People don't believe that.

So why do people believe in Moses turning sticks into snakes, or a virgin giving birth to a demigod who could raise the dead, or Muhammad flying from Mecca to Jerusalem mounted on a flying horse?

will often say things such as "earthly relationships are nothing compared to what we will have in heaven" and "as long as you put God first in your marriage it will all work out" I just find it creepy because I don't want to love anybody more than I love my family. I cannot imagine wanting to please a God more than to please my children and my husband, I love them so much I would rather have an 'earthly' relationship with them and put them first for my entire life. If you ARE religious could you explain to me if this is all literal? If you had to choose between God and your children who would you put first?
