For a Muslim to protect himself/herself from sins has to have a very strong belief in Allah (EMAN) and to follow the teachings of the Qur'an & the Prophet (PBUH) word for word.

In Islam sins are anything that go against the will of Allah. Surely you can protect yourself from doing major sins like murder, rape, eating ha ram foods e.t.c. , for lesser(!) sins the Curran teaches that the main way back to Allah is through genuine TBA (repentance) . I believe in this day and age sins such as for example a woman looking at an unrelated man are unavoidable but then can this really count as a sin if the intention is not bad? Praying regularly and remembering what we were put on earth for helps you keep the faith alive and makes you think twice before dong something that you shouldn't do.

I'm not Muslim... However it would seem that many -not all -
seem to think that its OK to take over Gods job or pretend
to be God or Ala. Many sit in judgment over Gods children
and would blow them up instead of letting God / Ala deal
with them. They would blow me up, not even knowing my
hart. It is they who are the infidels! It is they that don't know
Ala / God. Then It seems that the rest thinks there conduct
is acceptable seeing as how there silence is so deafening.
They are allowed to have a one night stand before they
blow themselves up. Seems to me, that's the time to clean
up there act. I can't tell that they do protect themselves
against sin. Hope that helps.

Meditation works for me.

Mediation keeps my mind focused on what I have to do, lets me know that being aware of my self means being aware of everything I do.

It helps me discipline my thoughts, so no unwanted thoughts exist in my brain.

When no unwanted thoughts or feelings exist, no unwanted forms of behaviour and consequently no unwanted habits exist either.

Beliefs form thoughts-Thoughts form actions-Actions form habits- Habits form life.

Unwanted habits: things God does not like

Note: if there are those who feel meditation is wrong, they need to understand that God created other cultures in the world, so we could learn beautiful things from them.

There are lots of ways.
When i go out from my home i say "God refuge me to be unleaded by myself or by others,or to trip by myself or to be trippen by others,or to oppress others or to be oppressed by others,or to ignore anyone wrongly or to be ignored wrongly by others"

Sorry for my bad Language.
