People believed in Moses turning sticks into snakes, or a virgin giving birth to God made flesh who could raise the dead, because they saw Moses turning sticks into snakes and they saw Jesus raise the dead as well as defeat death himself.

You would have to ask the other religions if anyone is recorded as being a witness to the events they claim.

Have you ever heard of a metaphor?

If I took everything literally, my faith would be a very scary thing to carry around with me....

Think about the big concepts... like reincarnation... everyone sees this process a little bit differently but millions of people agree that it happens... so they need a simple, descriptive metaphor (or mental picture) to describe it to their children and people of other faiths and languages.

I believe a poor Jewish man has the power to change the world and knows the way to the afterlife. He comforts me, makes me happy, makes me think about my fellow man. I don't care how he was born, I am just glad that he was.
