I wouldn't make it too high of a leap, just in case...maybe start with leaping off a stump, and work your way up to a tall building.

No, we are not supposed to test God with "leaps of faith." When God asks us to step out in faith, we do it. But He asks us things that are in accord with our lives, with the work He is already doing in our lives, with the level of our relationship with Him, etc. He is a God of order and not chaos, so if you are not spiritually ready to do something, He would not ask you to take a leap of faith.
The goal of being a Christian is not "doing the right thing," it's knowing the Father. If our "faith" doesn't help us become more intimate with the Father, it is not useful for us.

I beleieve that GOD does test us to see how faithful we are. Take it from me I am facing this my self in my life at the moment. I have been finding things very hard but I believe that in times like these we must cling to god for help strength and guidance. God tests us in the little to see how we will handle the plenty he has instore for us. And I beleiev that it is in times of trial that our faith in god is tested cos when things are good it is easy to say we beleive god is it not? But when the chips are down that is when we should truly give praise and thanks giving to god. As i type this I am going through my ow difficulties but I know that god is with me and this is just a test and after will come a TESTIMONY. Read the bible pray, cry to god if you want, fast and just know that he is with you even if you dont feel it have faith and he will truly bless you!

What sort of leap are we talking about here?
God does test us, being human is hard, it is difficult to do right and noone is perfect. God wants us to do His will but He is not a puppy. Nothing to be messed with.
You can't say "I am going to jump off this building and see if God saves me"...
God doesn't want us to be selfish or boastful etc...
If we pray for thousands of pounds and flashy cars God isn't going to give it to you. God is our Father and like a Father He has discipline and rules too. God wants the best for us and He doesn't want us to pray for these things, He wants us to help others. If we plan to do good with money or cars or actions God will bless us with more.

don't jump of any building now lat would be silly.
wouldn't taking a leap of faith be testing god? his love for you and so on i wouldn't risk it seeing how he gives people cancer according to Christians and before any one says god doesn't give us cancer who?

Isn't "test" another way of describing "messing with because He can, without regard for our feelings or suffering"? Because I dont see how it isnt, and for that reason I figure I am better off taking my chances alone

God does not play games with us that's why he gave us freewill to do as we please. How you use that freewill will determine the destination of your eternal life.
