I get the joke :-)

Seriously though - Cain didn't give God the best of his harvest, but the rotten, stunted, thrown-off dregs (Cain was a farmer - a tiller of the soil remember) but Abel, who happened to be a herdsman, always gave God the best, the firstfruits of his labor.

So when the two offered their sacrifices to God in holocausts (burnt offerings), naturally Abel's smoke went up high, but Cain's remained on the ground - God accepted Abel's offering because it was sincere, but could see what was in Cain's heart and rejected his.

Cain could have been as able as Abel :-) but he chose not to be. And then he went from bad to worse by giving in to rage and jealousy, and eventually, murder.

We all have this choice - to sincerely love God, or to pretend to outwardly, but not inwardly. God knows what is in our hearts.

cain went to God the wrong way he tried to go to God offering his plants from the ground. able went to God with his sacrifical sheep. ables way was the rite way and cains wasnt God says that life is in the blood so cains plants had no blood so God told kain his ways were wrong .its like when christains go to God threw his son our sacrifcal substitution we are going the rite way but the religions who go strait to God without the son are going the wrong way.

If YHVW wasnt so blood thirsty, neither one would have had to kill creatures for him.
I reckon YHVW was just a spoilt brat!

You screwed that one up. Check your spelling.

Not that it would have been funny anyway, mind you.
