In my experience, people who preemptively block are either crybabies or are trolls themselves. I've gotten a number of rather vile private messages, only to try to respond and discover that I've been blocked. Send a message to somebody and then block their ability to respond ----- complete losers.

they are either "troll patrollers," or they are easily offended, or sensitive, or you hurt their feelings, or they are bored and want to liven things up with their unfair policing.
But if you say something troll-worthy, you have to expect the consequences of acting as a troll, just saying.
