So illiterates will know what days to stay at home, when the probability of the Anti-Christ's return is highest? Or is there already a warning system in place?

Or was he/she/it really there in the first place? Is god and most other 'entities' a figment of people's imaginations to comfort them in some way, or do people just like to follow like sheep and believe whatever they are told.

If there was a scale where the top was good and the bottom was evil, then at what point would it change? Regardless of where you are on that scale the upper part is always better (more good) and the lower part is always worse (more evil).

- "Just as the ocean cannot be contained in a tea cup, the infinite God cannot be contained in the finite body of Jesus."
- God Is All-Powerful.....But Jesus Was Not
God Does Not Have A God.....But Jesus Did Have A God
- According to the Bible, God is an invisible spirit.... But Jesus Was Flesh And Blood
- NO ONE IS GREATER THAN GOD AND NO ONE CAN DIRECT HIM...
BUT JESUS ACKNOWLEDGED
SOMEONE GREATER THAN HIMSELF WHOSE...
Will Was Distinct From His Own
- The Church recognises the Bible as the primary source of knowledge about God and Jesus. But since the Bible makes it clear that Jesus is not the Supreme Being and the Supreme Being is not Jesus, upon what basis have you come to believe otherwise?

The belief that the Supreme Being is a Trinity is false and completely inconsistent with the words of Jesus as presented in the Bible. God is one, not three. He is a perfect unity.

It's amazing what churchmen will argue on behalf of their imaginary friend:

Then they wonder why nobody takes them seriously.

Do you ever really stop to ponder your own mortality?

Recent events have caused me to stop and think.... what if.. what if I was killed today?

Wow! What a thought. I am too much of a mess!

Every time I pass a cemetary I cross myself. I pray for the souls that have passed on, but I know this is supposed to help remind me to think of my own mortality.. and I am not very good at doing that. But ... boy I should have been!

If ever I felt an incentive to get my act together it is right now.... thinking of past tragedies like Virginia Tech... of Iraq... of terrorism... of murder...

Here are some quotes I found:

"Death's awful mystery comes upon us suddenly, and soul and body are violently severed, divorced from their natural union by the will of God. What shall we do at that hour if we have not thought of it beforehand, if we have not been instructed concerning this eventuality and find ourselves unprepared?" Holy New Hieromartyr Barlaam

Why are there so many different religions, when fundamentally faiths such as Jewadism, Islam and Christianity (apologises to other major faiths that I have missed out) are the same in the aspects of:
Believing and praying to one God, acting according on earth to gain rewards in the after life, promoting peace and the final day of judgement. I know that certain things set different faiths apart, but fundamentally aren't they not all the same...so why so many arguments????

the bible is contradictory, therefore the bible is not the words of God. Men wrote the bible, and therefore men say it is the words of God but when they write by inspiration, the source cannot be completely Known for sure

If you think something is wrong with talking to yourself, think again. God talked to himself in the book of Genisus (Bible), when he said "Let there be light"!
I just thought about that. Ha, Ha, Ha! If you agree give me an amen and you will have answered my question as the best answer. What do ya think?

Maybe consumer reports or some other consumer protection agency has statistics on this because you know it is not easy choosing a god to worship what with all the false gods, lazy gods and well... gods who just don't answer prayers. Did you get your pony for xmas? how satisfied were you on a scale of 1 to10? What debt did you pay per prayer request?

One of the most frustrating things for me as an atheist is the constant assumption that I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm a university student, I read and researched the bible extensively as a teenager, my bookcase is full of books on philosophical and religious considerations, I was brought up in highly religious communities, I went the four different primary schools and they were all CofE. Clearly, I know nothing about religion.

Religion is meant to make us unite with our fellow man but a lot of the time it sets us apart. The different customs of the different religions makes people outside a specific religion stand out like a sore thumb. As has been said 'man made God in his own image.'

After a few days living with the devil, curiosity got the better of her and we started the religion discussion. I'm not an evil converting atheist or anything but I'll talk for hours if people get me started. When I asked her if she knew just what atheism meant she told me confidently that atheism meant "destitute and without God." She is utterly convinced that this is the actual definition of the word even from a linguistic point of view despite also understanding that it's just theism with an A jammed in front.

I'm quite convinced that I'm not destitute, thank you very much.

i saw someone ask; can a christian be evil? and a lot of people posted no, as long as they are true christians.

is a true christian one that believes in the bible literally?
thus homosexuals should be stoned...

or is a true christian one that cherry picks the bible because their sense of morality is above the teachings of god and jesus?

do you just need faith and follow the 10 commandments? so slavery, bigotry, and deception are all ok?

or does your answer reflect how you see yourself?

is there something i missed? im very confused.

I read other people answers, and I see "atheists are dumb". Well reading so much is not like throwing buckets of water from the Eiffel tower you know? Even for someone that doesn´t have much memory, there is a lot of info that gets stuck.

On the contrary, how is it that the study of only one book and its interpretations (biblebiblebiblebible....) makes a better only source?
Please don´t say god wrote it, please don´t write verses.
I´m so tired of verses I could ask your devil if he wants to buy my soul... lol

Was Cain's wife one of Adam and Eve's children? If so, why was she sent away from God with Cain?

Why does the bible only mention that Cain had daughters?
