And... do you feel that the law of the land should reflect your position. If so, what would that law basically be?

I am really poor right, like I live on $400 a month, so really, really poor, yet poverty is not my question.

I want to join ISKCON otherwise known as the Hare Krishna's.

I dont want to be the guy who gives them everything I own, I just want to join there community, run around in a bright orange robe, and try and sell you books, then sleep in thier compounds.

Anyone know how I can become a hare krishna monk?

Anthropology says human appeared first in Africa. I assume the original humans were very dark. For those who do not believe in evolution, what do you think the color of Adam's skin was?

Let us take as a fact that Moses wrote the book of Genesis:

http://www.nwcreation.net/genesisauthor.html

Please read Genesis 1: 26 - 28

26
4 Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the cattle, and over all the wild animals and all the creatures that crawl on the ground."
27
God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them.
28
God blessed them, saying: "Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth."

Now please read Genesis 2:7

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Do you think Adam was the first man God made?

We have been together for a while now, and had just began the "marriage discussions" prior to this whole Jehovah interest. I still very much want to celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Birthdays, et cetera. We also have a small child together. How do you explain to a three year old, "Mommy can't come to your birthday party today because she believes in a different God than Daddy does..." Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Live in a multi-faith household? I do love this woman, but damn. HELP ME!!!! Can we even get married now? Are vows of marriage valid if sworn before separate Gods? HEEEELLLLPPPPP!

if you believe in faries - or ghosts - or invisible pink unicorns - or other things you can't see or prove, it's called "mythology"

if you believe God answers prayers - or Jesus rose from the dead - or Mohammed rode to Jerusalem on the back of a winged horse - or when you die you get to live forever on a cloud (with or without virgins) - it's called "religion"

what's the difference? apart from the fact that more people believe in Jesus than fairies - I don't see it.

Christians always say we suffer because Satan is working against God, but they also believe that God will defeat Satan....so, instead of God sitting back & letting the innocent be harmed by Satan in his various ways, why doesn't he just get rid of Satan now? Where is the justice in letting children starve to death, or be molested by perverts, or women be tortured by their husbands or wars that cause so much pain & suffering to so many people who did nothing to deserve it, when God is capable of ending the suffering NOW if he wanted to?

You have been transported to another dimension, and told there may or may not be a god, and the planet you arrive on has thousands of religions, each one which may or may not be the true path. What do you do, and why?

We know too well about the miserable "god of the gap" argument ('since science can't explain this thingie here, so god must have done it'), but isn't this "god of the void" affair becoming ridiculous?

Bonus karmic points: Why couldn't an omnipotent god fill these mindnumbingly gigantic voids with his creation?

i was just wondering
ok, i am totally religious, and i know that being gay/bi is way wrong and i am NOT attracted to other girls....but i have questions anyway.

oh and i am talking like is it wrong MORALLY or RELIGIOUSLY even if it's not for sexual reasons, just curiousity?

1) would it be wrong for me to be curious of what kissing another girl would be like?
2) would it be wrong if i kissed another girl, even if i wasn't attracted sexually toward her, just to see what it is like?

i am NOT bi, i CAN NOT be bi

thanks

I have these dreams that I am in Ancient Egypt. The first one was that I was in a temple with priests and was bowing down and praying to a big statue of Isis! I was a woman and was wearing a lot of jewellery! I remember feeling so moved by it... The second was I was outside of a huge building and I and the other people were struggling to pull a stone. Something had gone wrong and everybody was trying to help... I was sweating and there was even another woman there with me!

I remember when I was about 7, I saw the pyramids at Giza on TV and was so amazed by it and fell in love with everything Egyptian. I felt so comfterble with it!

I even today have started worshipping Isis because I feel really connected to this deity! I feel so good after praying and meditating to her. I used to be a Christian but I really didn't believe all of it because I've always believed in reincarnation my whole life! I even tried to find something in the Bible to prove that it was possible!

So, what do you think? Is it possible that I lived back then and came back in the 21st century as a man?

I've heard followers of one of these religions say that all three share the same god. I've always regarded this idea as false, but now I'm wondering about it. Are people confused because each of these religions address their god as simply "God"? Muslims actually refer to their god as both "God" and "Allah", so that doesn't even make sense. Could someone please set the record straight? Do Jews, Muslims, and Christians share the same god, or what? Many of us are confused. Thanks!
