Hi everyone i'm a young christian and I obey the Lord at all times my only problem is my relationship with my family. Everythings cool with my mom, sisters, and brother but my aunts are phony and I do want to reach out to them but don't know how. I'm here in South Carolina and their from Philly so they think we're not up to their "speed" so to speak its just that i don't wanna kiss their butts cause i'm a real young woman so i'ma speak my mind I just don't want to cause conflict. I invited my aunt ova to our cookout earlier but she didn't show up or even call to say she couldn't make it or nothin' and i've done nothin' to her. She sends me funny and inspirational e-cards and i send her some too but what is the problem cause sometimes I think its me. Hope I can get some positive responses on this maybe some bible passages to read on family. God Bless.

"My biggest fear is that this is not the work of the devil because there can be no devil if there is no god,
and if there were a god, he would never allow such suffering;
and I see people ground up in the gears of this anarchy, I see people in anguish. Ive come to believe that we are living in a great void"

I kind of have my own system of beliefs. I believe there is a god, but I don't think any religion is the true religion. I've kind of drawn beliefs from all over, from many different religions. When people ask me what religion I am, what should I say? I don't like to say that I don't have a religion because that seems to say I don't believe in anything.

I have been reading on here a good bit and constantly see people referring to Christianity as a hateful religion. It is not. I do not hate anyone. I do not desire to do harm to anyone. People think Christians hate gays. Some may but a true Christian following the Bible will not. I do not hate homosexual people. I do feel they are sinning and doing wrong but I do not hate them. I would never treat them badly or do wrong to them. If I did then any chance of showing them Christ or getting them saved would be lost.

I just don't understand why people on here seem to feel Christians are hateful. Can anyone please explain to me?

There are several documents dated around the time that the Bible takes place written by different individuals than those who wrote the Bible that support it's events. Further, the Bible has been translated into English from the original texts dated at the time the authors would have lived who knew Jesus and would have remembered his teachings.

But the Book of Mormon was written on Golden Tablets that the Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith claimed to have seen only for himself. Is there any geological data or archeology discoveries to support the stories in the Book of Mormon or is most of it doubtful?

but in FSMism, we refer to our god as HE. We capitalize both letters rather than just the first. Doesn't this prove that the FSM is the ONE TRUE GOD?

This just occurred to me so I hope I get it out properly.

Christians are called stupid and gullible for believing in a book (or collection of books) written by humans thousands of years ago and naively believe it to be the word of God and infallible.

Now... let me ask. Aren't scientists fallible humans as well? Hasn't science often been turned upside down, and hard and fast FACTS been dismissed when new information is gained. Then later even that sometimes gets overturned? Common "scientific" belief was that the earth was flat. Leeches were the medical marvel of a certain time.

The Bible and it's teachings, whether you believe them to be inspired of God or not, has stood the test of time and it's advice practical down to our day. Can you say the same for science, which is ever changing?

True. Greater knowledge improves a particular science. But the fact is that it is fallible...experimental, in it's very nature.

Honest thoughts please? Keep it nice!!

I am trying to prove that the Book of Mormon is true but cannot find any sources from the time that the stories take place to prove it. I am a Mormon and want to believe that my faith could be true.

Just out of curiosity, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Atheist, all of us, do you guys know the difference between Apes and Monkeys? I hear this **** all the time. Christians claiming we came from Monkeys, even Atheist saying our DNA is close to Monkeys. If you don't know the difference, please do not try to argue something you don't understand.

I would like to become a minister one day and minister to mostly young people. But, I have one little problem: I can stand people! I am not a people person and I have never been. Most people get on my nerves! The people that I have had dealing with in my life are two-faced, hypocrites, liars, back-biters, throat-cutters, thieves and Cheaters. I want to start a non-profit ministry eventually, but every time I try to do as Jesus did and find my 12 disciples, all I end up getting is 12 Judases. Does anyone have a solution? I know I have to do a lot of fasting and praying and maybe some anger management classes would hurt either. But, for some reason, some people really get me mad and angry.

I once heard a Catholic say that nuns wanted to stay virgins because they were "saving themselves for Jesus". I'm fairly certain that the person was nuts and that this statement was a product of their diseased mind. However, if this is actually the belief of some nuns, would all the celibate priests be "saving themselves" for the same reason?

What does God say about the life and personhood of a fetus? People have worth and identity before they are born. It's in the Bible:

Jeremiah 1:5, NIV. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

God is at work in a person's life while he is in the womb. It's in the Bible:

Psalm 139:13-14, NIV. "For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

God's commandment forbids the taking of life. It's in the Bible:

Exodus 20:13, NIV. "You shall not murder."

This all is especialy for pro-abortion Christians.
