Everyday people?
Everyday shame?
Everyday promise shot down in flames?
Everyday sunrise?
Another everyday story?
Rise from the ashes and blaze
In everyday glory?

If the future's looking dark
We're the ones who have to shine?
If there's no one in control
We're the ones who draw the line?
Though we live in trying times
We're the ones who have to try?
Though we know that time has wings
We're the ones who have to fly...?
No matter what they say?
(thanks Neil Peart)

Why is it so easy to believe that we came from an animal and that some can cast magical spells on people but so hard to believe that someone created us and loves us?

If God is omniscient (all-knowing) then why didn't he prevent Adam and Eve from eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? After all, if God knows everything, he should be able to see into the future and be able to read others minds. Does this mean God already knows who is going to heaven and hell meaning we really do not have free will?

This is not something I would ever do, as it would not be very Christian. However it is a thought that runs through my head sometime when I drive past the local Mosque. What would happen if I walked into you prayer room and pulled out a big pork sandwich and began to eat it? What if I did it at say the dome of the rock as opposed to a local mosque?

No offense is meant by this question it is just something that has run through my mind.

She is the Author of "Infidel". I think she is a brave and good woman. She is standing up for the rights of Islamic women who, I feel are often abused and treated very badly. I know not all of them are, but it does seem like Islam is not a very kind religion to women. I think it is a shame, how many of the men mistreat not only their wives, but their daughters and sisters. What is you opinion on her and the way Islam treats women? Why do you feel this way?

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the
lesson was about. The daughter answered, "Don't be scared, you'll get your
quilt." Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the
pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that morning's
Sunday school lesson was about. He said "Be not afraid, thy comforter is
coming."

John 14:26 (Whole Chapter)
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I'm agnostic but I like Christmas and all the cheer and pine tree stuff. Do you think Christmas will transform in to some gift giving, time off work/school holiday in the future? I know of many holidays that have transformed over time from dominant religion to dominant religion like Halloween.

I've got a prophecy for the willing and open minded. The world WILL end on that day and it will happen at 11:11 when "all the lines are strait." Like the animals, we all sense it. Mostly the one who stands still, like the sentry at post. What do YOU feel?

I heard about an ancient technique called the third eye. Its supposed to be a six sense. It makes you more aware of your surroundings and you are able to sense things more often. Does anybody know how to perform the Third eye so I can try this technique?

In the past, people have asked Christians whether they would still have a child, if they were told that aforementioned child would be an atheist.

Now, I'm wondering--Atheists, would you still have a child if you knew that your child would be a fundie Christian?

And why don't they understand that their preaching only means something to those who are already Christians?

How does evolution explain fire? According to creation scientist Em Adjineri (say it out loud) fire is alive. This is because fire can grow and respond to stimuli when you fuel it. It can also reproduce. For example, I can use one candle to light ten others.

So if fire is alive, what did it evolve from?

There is no fossil evidence of transitional fire fossils. The fires we have now are the same as the fires we used to have. There is no fossil evidence to suggest otherwise. Fire could not have come into existence through evolution.

Therefore, fire must have been intelligently designed. God created fire so that humans would have something to be warmed by. He gave it to humanity so that we could survive in the cold.

Take that Prometheus-lutionists.

I am 13, and want to do some bible study. I don't really have any friends that would be intersted in doing this with me, so I'm basically on my own. I have no clue where to start! I have the NIV Backpack Bible. (No, it's not a little kiddie bible). This bible has the words of Christ in red, and then a readers help section; which has things like, what to read if you - are lonely, jealous, angry, desire to learn how to pray, etc. Then a "Promises From The Bible" section. Both of these give you verses to do with the subject. So I have my bible, and a highlighter, I am all set! Where to start?

Thanks so much in advance!

Apparently, there have been several Buddhist monks that have actually set themselves on fire as protest against various forms of government injustice. They were able to just sit there and meditate while on fire! (They died eventually, of course, but it didn't seem to phase them at all).

Since Buddhist monks seem to want to spend most of their time meditating, and they can meditate just fine while on fire, it seems likely they could pretty much just shrug off hell and get along fine there.

Did Jehovah not realize that some humans would be pretty much immune to his "big punishment"? Could the monks ability to ignore being on fire be a sign that they've latched onto something better than and beyond Jehovah?
