Do you equate them with "fiction," or with a reality that has a different sort of existence from your kitchen table or your cousin Joe? Are they "real" in some sense that is useful?

... so what's the latest great thing that he's done? What couldn't be mistaken as a work of god and what will all god-believers out here undoubtedly agree upon because it was so surely God's hand doing it?

...For the benefit of non-believers, please try to restrict your answer to something we would also be aware of, ( know it wasn't making those aircraft miss the World Trade Center buildings.. I guess he sort of goofed there didn't he?).

Have you ever loved anyone?

Can you prove scientifically that love exists(existed)?

Does the fact that you can't prove you are/were in love make you a retard for believing that you are/were in love?

If someone that has NEVER felt love doesn't believe in love, does that invalidate the fact that you felt it? Does it give them the right to make fun of you and call you names because of it?

Some things in life can't be proven but can only be felt.

I feel that God exists and I feel His presence in my life. Just because YOU don't doesn't invalidate how I feel or what I believe to be true. Does it give you the right to harass me?

You just haven't seen and felt what I have and maybe one day you will, maybe you won't.

All I ask is that you respect that others can and do believe differently than you do. Treat others like you want to be treated. Is that asking too much? Or are you really just an intolerant wannabe bully?

If people believe in Jesus and follow him, why do people then say his name in negative situations? For example, if something bad or annoying happens to someone, sometimes they yell, "JESUS CHRIST!" or sometimes just "JESUS!". But I don't understand why so many people often attach his name to negative situations?

I don't mean to offend anyone, I'm just curious

I was on myspace, and the bulletins are crazy. One after the other is bullshit and dumb crap that i don't want to read. But there was one that said that jesus said, "If you deny me in front of your friends, I'll deny you in front of my father"

I'm thinking its bullshit but someone correct me?

-Who wrote each book (section) of the Bible. (The Bible is now one book because all of the small books were put together at a certain point, so I need to know who wrote which one.)

-When each book was written - I need the year.

I need very accurate information, so only those who really know need respond. And please stay on topic. Sorry to put all of this but if I don't, I get all kinds of answers to religious questions and I really need this particular specific information only.

Thanks!!!

so there was a question about adam and the breath of life and all that. here is what some annoying prick said:

"Whoa I still don't understand why people believe this crap. Lets debunk this quickly using the bible itself for referance. Adam and eve had two children. Later the two children were said to travel to other villages to find wives. HOW THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN IF ADAM AND EVE CREATED LIFE??? Case closed, have yourself a nice day and try not to believe everything that is said to you."

first off, before i get into this, i dont care if you are athiest and want to rag on the church, because thats your opinion. but if you want to rag about the church, GET YOUR **** STRAIGHT!!!!

now, my rant. adam was made, then eve from his rib, as all christians should know. adam and eve lived over 900 years you stupid prick. they had more than 2 sons, and a hell of a lot of daughters. all of them when they came to age, left home to set up their own villiage and home, im sure.

There is a difference...and try to stray from the "I'm both!" cop out...just take some time and REALLY consider the differences...
----------

I'm more spiritual. I believe in God and Jesus, but I don't go to a church or follow a specific doctrine so I'm not really religious...

Alright, so I'm Roman Catholic and live in the south which is never really good. Within 20 miles of where I live, there are two catholic churches. One is really political which I don't like and the other is really cold. By cold, I mean the church is made entirely out of concrete. The walls, floors, and pews are just unpainted concrete which gives it a kind of dungeon feel. Would it be wrong to switch religions so I can go to a church with a more comfortable social and political environment? If I do that, should I switch to that denomination?

We haven't had a good ol fashioned Kool-Aid cult in years...

I miss Waco and the Nike Aliens.... they made the media circus fun to watch...

Is Scientology the "craziest" we can get anymore? It's not CRAZY enough...

I want to see some hillbilly baptists that get into cannibalism as transconfiguration, or maybe some Mormons that build a space shuttle to that planet that God lives on....

THAT would be fun to watch.... what do you think?

Would you accept that faith is different from religion?

Faith is what you believe in your heart; religion is the organization that you attend to be with others who have a similar belief to you.

So here is my question:
Why have I met a number of faithful people that continue to follow religions that they do not agree with the tenants of?

I realize that part of it is ignorance of the tenants of their church, but I would think that someone's strong faith would make them want to understand their religion and draw them to a group that felt the same way they do.

would HE afford everyone the right of "free will," knowing -- since He is all powerful and knowledgeable -- that man and woman, in their infinite sense of selfishness and sin, and in exercising this right of "free will", would disobey Him at their leisure?
