I've had many evolutionist, here and elsewhere, say, no, evolution is *not* a religion; however many evolutionists seem to hold Darwin and Sagan, and their ilk in greater esteem than many church-goers hold Paul and John and other Apostles. Also, the "party line", or doctrine, of evolution seems to be considered by evolutionists to be more sacrosanct than many teachings of the Bible are by nominal Christians and church-goers!
If anyone like Michael Behe admits that one or two minor points he has made, in his book, Darwin's Black Box, are possibly in error, Evolutionists are quick to paint *everything* he says in his book with the broad brush of disbelief, without addressing the 98-99% of the book which *isn't* wrong and is essentially irrefutable!
So over all, I'd have to say that the doctrine of Evolution is held strongly enough by its believers to constitute a religion! Although I believed in evolution before becoming a Christian, I'd also have to say that I no longer have enough *faith* to *still* believe in Evolution!

Religion is an outward manifestation of a belief
in a Superior Being who created the earth and
everything in it.
Evolution is belief in the descent of forms of life
from organized types in a single cell. Has nothing
to do with a Superior Being.

In that the theory of evolution needs faith to believe, since hard evidence of all the missing links necessary to its veracity is missing, I suppose you could call it an anti-religion false religion
religion.

False. It's a theory that atheistic people have interpreted into the idea that there is no God. In fact, Evolution says no such thing. It merely shows HOW God MIGHT have created life.

False.
Evolution is the only testable scientific theory that explains the origins of species through natural selection (not chance) and the ascent of man.

Anything becomes a religion when your devotion goes to the extreme, to the extent of despising others who do not share the same beliefs with you.

Wiki says: A religion is a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.
So, no, it's not!
