Intellectually

Supposing the Bible describes the one true GOd, he is described as petulant, tyranical and morally abhorant, an egomaniac. perhaps this god fears man will put him on trial for crimes against humanity?

Pisces. March 11. Are there any other Pisceans out there who are getting sick and tired of the emotional up and down-swings? Maybe it's just me, but any time I read the typical run down of a Pisces I get irritated at the fact of its absolute accuracy, because while we have many endearing qualities, we're also a bunch of whackos, in my humble opinion. I just had to vent. Other Pisceans feel free to do the same. It's not easy being warm in an otherwise cold world. I understand. Believe me I do.

Talk to me, Pisceans. Here's my shoulder. Have a good cry. :) What're your thoughts? Haven't found that person who understands your idealistic, emotional pie-in-the-skyness?

I understand.

Spending too many nights trying to figure out everyone else's emotional hang-ups?

Been there... AM there...

Someone cares, Pisceans- too much and without regard to my own personal well-being, but that's the cross we bear. Please tell me I'm not the only one... :)

I have recently heard that there is more than one John in the Bible. The same goes for James.

Apparatnly, James, the brother of Jesus, is also John's physical brother, but this is not John th Baptist. And the other James was a disciple of Christ.

Anyone care to share some insight on this matter?

i'm not catholic, so i don't know the rules all that well, but i'm not bashing anyone either. i just don't quite get it. i can see where a vow of celebacy might have a biblical basis- st paul wrote that he wished everyone could be like him, and not marry. i'm guessing that's not where the celebacy thing came from, since he also wrote that a bishop should be a man of one wife (you probably know those verses). is the vow of celebacy taken because that was the standard for rabbis and scribes during the time of Jesus? is this part of the tradition that st paul asked the church to uphold? this is the only reasonable explanation i can come up with. i suppose i could have searched my question, but hey, i like it this way. just trying to clear things up. thanks a lot.

I posted this question before, yet, I did not get a satisfying answer :

I'm so confused.. who is God??? I know that Jesus is referred to as:

- The Son of God
- God
- Lord

If Jesus Christ is God, why then in the bible does Jesus always talk about God, his father? At times, it is mentioned in the bible that Jesus pray to God, his Father.

If Jesus is God, why was there a need for Jesus to portray God as another higher being of an individual? Why did Jesus have to pray to himself??

Please help my Catholic faith!

Would this world be better if we women rose up against our masculine opression and ordered the rule by feminine decree? Men have messed up this planet for millions of years, why shouldn't it be our turn? We could turn this planet into a paradise once more.

One entity (Monotheism) cannot have two wills.

Two seperate entities (polytheism) can have two wills.

Jesus and God have two seperate entities as we all know from the famous Bible verse.

Matthew 26:39 "And going a little way forward, he fell upon his face, praying and saying: “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will.”

I am not a fundie, so don't start thinking that. I am an agnostic and a practicing Buddhist. But can your problem be that you fail not to see a reality beyond the five senses? When asking to see God(s) or anything paranormal, should it only be seen with the physical eyes and not the eye of understanding (mind eye)? Is your world view limited to only the five senses and not beyond. Maybe you are not seeing the whole picture. I don't mean to rag on you but I am just wondering how you feel.

For the ones who say, I have...... are you sure God hasn't been helping you in small ways that you don't even think about.
Such as, doesn't others that help you in some way when you're in need?
Basically that God has helped those who helped you.

I know I cannot survive with out God, the many small or large ways he helps me to go forward. ~ Yes I amit I am weak in human form, and strong in faith in God.

Good morning
Peace ~!~

Believing on Christ means a whole lot more than agreeing in my mind with the truths of the Bible. It means that I have come to trust the whole Bible, God's law book to me. It also means that I have an on-going earnest desire to be obedient to the commands of the Bible. Thus I find I am truly happy when I am living like God instructs me in the Bible.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:3
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

It seems that so many religions out there are divisive even though thier intentions are good. We need to have more unity, even with our differences. I feel the spirit of Buddhism is to be a uniter and not a divider. Should we take a more active role in spreading peace and compassion in the world. I am not saying spreading Buddhism, because not everyone is a practicing Buddhist. I am saying to keep spreading the real true religion which is kindness and peace.
