Generally Raksha Bhandan is not celebrated by Muslims-
It is not necessary that the rakhi can be given only to a brother by birth; any male can be "adopted" as a brother by tying a rakhi on the person, whether they are cousins or a good friend. Indian history is replete with women asking for protection, through rakhi, from men who were neither their brothers, nor Hindus themselves.
One of the earliest origins of Raksha Bandhan in documented history can be traced to the medieval era. During this period the Rajputs were fighting Muslim invasions. Rakhi at that time was a spiritual symbol associated with protection of the sister. History has it that when Queen Karnawati the widow of the then King of Chittor realised that she could in no way defend the invasion of the Sultan of Gujarat, Bahadur Shah, she sent a rakhi to Emperor Humayun. The Emperor touched by the gesture, accepted the rakhi thereby accepting Queen Karnawati as a "sister" and immediately started off with his vast troops to protect Queen Karnavati.
One of the oldest legendary references to the festival of Rakhi goes back to 300 B.C. At this time Alexander the Great, was invading India. Alexander was shaken by the fury of the Indian king Puru in his first attempt. Upset by this, Alexander's wife, who had heard of the Rakhi festival, approached King Puru. King Puru accepted her as his sister and when the opportunity came during the war, he refrained from fighting Alexander. In the war, when Alexander fell from his chariot and King Puru was about to slay him, King Puru saw the rakhi on his wrist and he drew his sword back.
Brotherhood relationship is beyond caste, religion and race. -

Humayun's act is contemplated as a gentleman's act and should not be regarded as an act of approving the relation. Without sending the Rakhi he also would have implied to help a woman in distress and it doesn't matter against whom he was lodgin the war. From what i have studied, a Muslim toeing to a rakhi knot will not approve the act as brother or sisterhood relation instead may prefer to respect it however Rakhi will not stand to approve as bond of brother/sister relation. Muslim other than their blood sister and other categories call Na mehrams with whom they are all allowed to marry except the blood line and they call it mehram. Even if one wishes to adopt this as a policy they are not allowed in Islam and is regarded as Biddat(Anything which is against the teaching of Islam) and Rakhi is not having any concept or place in it.

Dear Brother / Sister:
Muslims nevercelebrate the Raksha Bandhan: in Islam even they dont have to celebrate Birth Day also. Muslims have to celebrate the only two Festivals 1. Ramazan Ead al Fitr: which after 30 days fasting they are celebrating 2. Bakrid those people performing Haj Month: they slautiring Goat Ship some thing: This is relegious matter:
If any muslim tied raksha bandhan by any hindu sister: he have to be treat his own sister:
In my openion in hindu religion many many festivals. The Best festivals is only the "Raksa Bandhan" Very beautiful and one sister tied the rakhi to her brother on his rist.Other all most festivals only profit for business: not for poor people. The festival should be benefit for poor people. Ex. Dasara They are using Crocers some small explosives. First thing is polution and second thing is dangerous for chinldren: Kite Festival: Some times on kite festival some body want to catch the which is cut by another kite by mistake he will fell down by building or any accident by car on running: Holy: The holy is a kind of color when you put the color to your face it will infected by chemicals. it one person ok in big family it will put 15 people rub chemical clr for your face what will hapened. Ganesh: The some thousands rupees spending for build Ganesh after that dumping in the sea or any river that one also poluted. The best festival in hindu relegion is Maha sivaratri. becoz eating fruits going to mandir with good dress. going temple with milk No waste of money.
My Brother and Sisters:
I am not critisizing the festivals i am showing the side effects of festivals: We are wasting lot of money every year The same money we can use for poor people. You can see the europ how withot poluted.
I am very sorry if i hurt u.

No, Muslims dont celebrate raksha bandhan. If some king had done in the past, it doesnt mean that Muslims should do the same. It was a wrong thing to do. Its not allowed in Islam.
Raksha bandhan is a part of Hindu religion. Its not a part of Islam, so raksha bandhan should not be celebrated.

I have no idea in detail but there is no harm in observing this festival. It is very sacred and pure tie/knot of relationship between brother and sister and safeguards all interests of each other in all circumstances. This brother-sister relation is in every religion/community and should be celebrated on large scale to inculcate true meaning and importance of relationship between youth in society so that females can be fearless to learn and earn at their own and advance in better way.
