I think its an excuse and a way of escaping responsibility, but i frequently blame god for toying with my life and making it bad. But then, it's just my fault. Im so lousy at everything, its so overwhelming. I feel like i have ADHD or depression even though ive never been diagnosed(never went to doctor asking actually). Im such a coward, and i blame some of it on god and on myself.

Exist or not, i wish i could get in a decent conversation with god. I do consider him responsible for every situation im in. Its just i don't know what to do that makes me feel bad. Complain sure aint done any good either.

Im non religious however...Dont have a religion of any kind. I also dont believe in God, but my good and bad luck that happens in times making it seem like it wasnt a coincidence tells me otherwise.

Someone here just reasoned that Revelation is a personal matter, that Christians believe it to be true, and therefore it's true.

Is that REALLY how it works?

Does truth and reality spring forth from our beliefs and feelings? Or are we all so brilliant that whatever we believe to be true or real just so happens to actually BE TRUE or REAL? Or are only SOME of us "just so good"?

[45.26] Say: Allah gives you life, then He makes you die, then will He gather you to the day of resurrection wherein is no doubt, but most people do not know.
[45.30] Then as to those who believed and did good, their Lord will make them enter into His mercy; that is the manifest achievement.
[45.31] As to those who disbelieved: What! were not My communications recited to you? But you were proud and you were a guilty people.
Evolution Theory
Muslims are not united on the theory of evolution. There is evidence for both arguments but there is almost complete agreement that man was created as man and did not evolve. Ali Al-Musawi is entitled to his views. –Webmaster Shadow Caster
The theory of evolution states that we are not created but have evolved from monkeys and lower life forms from which we have developed through random mutations in our DNA. If we take this to be a fact, then is there still not the question of “Who created the first life form?”. So, the evolution theory doesn’t explain-away the concept of there being a God at all. Since Darwin suggests that we came into existence by a natural process through nature; if we compare nature to a machine that makes other machines we can see, like all machines, there needed to be an intelligent designer who created the first machine able to make other machines.
There are things within us that are beyond the evolution theory which Darwin suggests. These things are contrary to his theory because they make us less likely to survive. These things are moral inclinations. Things like bringing others before ourselves, or helping another person and saving another persons’ life even when we know that we may die in the process, and feelings like guilt and shame which are an inner voice which determine our behavior. If someone was drowning we would feel obliged to help them. Where has this moral inclination come from? Knowing that the cause of these emotions does not belong to the physical world, we must assume it to be supernatural and divine since it cannot be explained scientifically - it is beyond science.
Evolution gets rid of characteristics that have no survival benefit, but yet we still have these within us. Such as having unique finger prints, which have no survival benefit. Also, if humans evolved from lower creatures then why did we loose some very important and beneficial features? Examples include the ability to store oxygen for long periods like some sea mammals can to stop us drowning and to improve our chances of getting food, or to re-grow limbs and damaged nerves after they have been severed like in most lizards. There are many more such examples in nature. Another thing is uninterested-love which is helping others, whether we know them or not, and putting ourselves in danger and life-threatening circumstances for other peoples’ sake which has no survival benefit for the individual sacrificing himself - in fact there could be a great chance that they could both die! Also it is our human intelligence that allows us to mould our environment and not just be shaped by it so there is no excuse to evolve to suit the survival-of-the-fittest argument.
Evolution theory is based on natural selection but there has not been a single shred of evidence put forward to show that natural selection causes living things to evolve. Collin Patterson, a prominent expert evolution researcher in this field stresses that natural selection has never been observed to have the ability to cause things to evolve: No one has ever produced a species by the mechanisms of natural selection.
Evil And Natural Disasters?
Some people ask: If there is a God then why is there evil or natural disasters in the world and why is the world not perfect while God is perfect? Some may say these natural disasters are punishments from God like in the case of Sodom (Thamood in Arabic) and Gomorrah (Aa’d in Arabic). Both these tribes were punished by volcanic eruptions for practicing the sin of homosexuality. But natural disasters can be explained scientifically. For instance Tornados occur to maintain a balance in atmospheric pressure. Volcanic eruptions occur due to changing pressures in the planet’s core and it creates new land. Poisonus Ozone (O3) is there to maintain ozone layers to protect us from dangerous cosmic rays. So these natural disasters may be caused by God in order to maintain the natural equilibrium of the environment that we destroy through our activities, e.g. forest fires. What you must understand is that when a man dies he will not be forgotten, he will be raised up on the day of judgment.

Infact if I remember correcting from reading that novel, God gave permission to kill, and even killed thousands of people.

2nd Question
(since I have no more questions today)

If God told you to kill all non-believers would you?

If agnostics *don't* lack belief in God, doesn't that mean they *have* belief in god making them theists? They *aren't* theists so they must lack belief in god.

Clearly agnostics are also by definition atheists.

Atheists can also be agnostic at the same time, because lacking belief in something DOES NOT mean you aren't open to the possibility of it.

Atheism and Agnostism are completely compatible and similar.

Sorry i sort of repeated the question, just wanted to clearify.

I am always dumbfounded by the aggressive nature of christians. Now don't get me wrong, there are some christians that are truely beautiful souls, however, most are aggressive, ill intented, saddistic people(enjoy the affliction of pain) that hide behind the curtain of organised religeon.

I thought Jesus always tought the Golden Rule? or to turn the other cheek? Since when did Christianity begin forcing their religeon into everyones faces (condemning them for disputing opinion) and defending their own personal beliefs with forked toungues?

I sometimes feel ashamed by the ignorance... We have to grow beyond the crusades.

Yes it is long and some will NEVER finish reading it :-)

I have fashioned a new key for you Father, Brother and Son. Do we remember how to get our mind into the skin and see how the conscious grows?

Some die of cancer because they have completely lost the ability to feel inside their body with their mind. Lost with it is the ability to sense the pain when it starts and how to focus attention on where in the body it hurts. The finely painted pain the body knows but through words in the mind we have shut it off so it grows and grows. Until one day they find cancer because cancer knows cancer and, so now do you, never let it eat you.

Now we sit higher in the tree.

Are these words too difficult to hear?

Become the cause of your actions and learn how to feel its effect. Be it, so that you will learn to know it. This is how we start to make ourselves strong. I know my cause is for all and so do many.

Okay...Most people are probably sick of me talking about this, BUT I really want to understand the fundamentalist Christians at my pro-life group and how they think. So......

I joined a Christian forum, and was all prepared to ask questions. Now I'm freaked. I don't want hate mail, or conemnations. I want to TALK - not argue.

I though this might help me understand and be able to talk more reasonably with people in real life. I haven't lied and said I was Christian. In fact, on the Terms&Conditions part, it only said

Do you think they'll kick me off if I tell the truth about my faith, and my purpose is to be surrounded by them so I can try and talk and maybe understand the teens in Fundamental Christianity?
I really want to talk to people my age (or close) about what they believe, especially if I encounter it a lot.

Does anyone have any suggestions other than cancel that account?

Someone recently posted a queston about miscarrying her baby and asked for some information on the subject. Many answers were heartwarming, expressed sorrow, well wishing, truthful and comforting answers. Yet some gave these answers a thumbs down rating. A person in pain reachs out to others, are given helpful words of comfort, and some rate these answers as being poor. This is just one example. There are many like it. Why? Why are there such fools on this site? Why offer such a rating? Yeah, I know it's a free country, freedom of speech, and all that stuff, but why be so childish? Are people really that hartless, insincere, and spineless?

Just curious, I don't remember when I first heard of Lillith. She has just always been known to me.(I was raised Wiccan.) I was very shocked to discover most Christians have no knowledge of their beloved Adams first wife. Is this just not taught to them?

It's so hot in Egypt even in the springtime, the summertime is much worse. Are there any Muslim women who leave their hijab at home during the hot days?

I have some hijabs and have tried them on indoors. This was during the winter and spring in Southern California, where we have nice weather. Even indoors, I couldn't stand it! (I'm not Muslim, but did buy some hijab for my trip to Egypt, if in case I needed it.) After a while, I had to take it off, it bothered me so much! It was hot, and annoyed the skin under my chin. It would be much worse if the skin was sweaty, 'cause it would get raw.

How do you Muslim women do it? And do you ever skip a day? What's it like? Curious.

I asked this question in the Travel - Africa & Middle East - Egypt section, and was told that Muslim women don't wear the hijab as a fashion statement, but to obey their religion. Before anyone here says the same thing, yes, I realize this. However, I'm asking about and not fashion.

Thanx.

I myself am an Atheist, but I have said many times that I am not the smartest person who ever lived. I don't know everything, nor will I ever. Christians, not many, but some will admit the same thing. Could we all just get together and admit that we are "not so smart"?

I have already asked for forgivness from God but i also pray that you all will forgive me for what i have done. I feel that as a Christian, this is the right thing to do because i don't want to make a bad name for us Christians.

Recently, i got 2 messages questioning my salvation, this is due to me talking about buttered toast all the time, im being serious, the reason why i talk about it so much is because it gets very boring here at work, i have to work 12 hours a day, sometimes longer. I want to entertain myself so i ask questions about buttered toast just to get laughs, i didn't mean for anyone to think i wasn't saved, I just wanted to make others and myself laugh which it worked but yet it also had others questioning my salvation. Im very sorry for that. Some of you may be asking, Why talk about Buttered Toast anyway? Well this is because i just love that way it sounds, lol and i love buttered toast in general. I ask for you to please forgive me, in Jesus name. God bless

I'm just curious. It seems to me that anybody who examines the writings of the "Founding Fathers" in depth would come to the conclusion that they absolutely did NOT intend the US to be a Christian nation, or a nation governed by the laws of any religion. In fact, they viewed government based on religion as an inherently bad thing. Just look at the treaty of Tripoli which says "the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;" Thomas Jefferson, for one, has some notable very anti orgainzed religion thoughts.

So I'm wondering where people got the idea that this country was founded as a Christian nation. Historians are welcome to answer...
