Someone here just reasoned that Revelation is a personal matter, that Christians believe it to be true, and therefore it's true.

Is that REALLY how it works?

Does truth and reality spring forth from our beliefs and feelings? Or are we all so brilliant that whatever we believe to be true or real just so happens to actually BE TRUE or REAL? Or are only SOME of us "just so good"?

I have to laugh at this. You have hit the nail on the head.

You might pass my "orange test." This test asks that if a lot of people for a very long time insist that an orange is really a tomato, what happens?

All our reality is shaped by our senses and mind. Is there more to be seen and understood, of course.

But to continually insist on a whole other reality with NO real evidence, is to flunk the "orange test"

No. One could not believe in gravity and still have a very bad end if they walked off the side of a twenty story building.

The truth is. One disbelieving in it with not negate it.

Interestingly enough, all the things claimed in the bible, that have yet to come to pass, such as the reign of Jesus on earth, that He is indeed the only way to God, are things that cannot be proven; only time will reveal if they are true.

No that is not how it REALLY works. But some people do create their own reality. Just because some people believe that a god is coming out of the sky to live on earth someday does not mean that it will happen. Just as a child believing in the tooth fairy does not make a tooth fairy exist. But you know that already

What you believe shapes your reality. For example after the "first" alien kidnapping. People started reporting seeing aliens.
If you tell a person that some car they don' remember was blue(while it was red) They might even form memories of a red car. Children are especially vulnerable to such mind manipulation. That's why religions like to start brainwashing them Earlie. Look at religious school they love Lil kids flocking around in there Catholic army uniforms, same goes for Islam. Uniforms are also a method of manipulating people. Armies dress the same to identify each other. Forming a strong group. The difference is that real armies start kids later in life. 18 17 etc. Religious armies like them at 5 6 7or even at birth.

Just because I believe something is true or real doesn't always make it so. Several people could believe the sun rises in the west, but that doesn't make it true. I think there are actual established truths or facts that can't be disbuted, but then I also think there are personal truths i.e. something you and others may believe to be true but aren't necessarily true just because you believe them.

"There is no truth there is interpertation"
"I do not see things as they are, I see things as I am"
"When we search for truth wheather we know it or not we search for God"

My experience is my truth, be it real or not it is my experience,
I donot think I am brilliant, Nor do I think I am so good! by far,
"There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle
of her forehead, when she was good she was very very good, when she was bad she was horrid!"

To me yes,the God of my understanding is an experience,
not an explanation, He is a choice not an enforcer. All I can
say to you is, my life with Him is better within with my belief
without Him. But I would force my belief on no one, As I know
that is impossible to do, as no one could have forced Him on me. Blessing to who ever you are or what you think, That is
your truth.

That's an interesting question. I guess anything that is inherently subjective, like a concept, would be real just by virtue of someone believing in it. (Is democracy real? As long as someone believes in it, it is). But obviously from an objective standpoint that doesn't hold.

Peace to you.

Well, no, believing something to be true or real doesn't make it true or real. But if you believe in something or someone because of your experiences with them, you develop trust with that person. So then, if that person is honest with, and faithful to, you--you believe in them. They have proven themselves worthy of your trust and belief.

That's how it is with God--at least for me. And as I believe the Bible to be His word, I believe Revelation to be true as well.

And maybe that's what the other person was trying to convey to you as well?

Demons stop talking to people after you start them on antipsychotics. The demons are real and true to them before the drugs take effect.

It's how they get to believe in their Invisible Sky Guys.
First comes the Fear of going to hell, then comes the Answer of how to escape it, then comes the Faith to put it all together in a 'positive' light.
It's quite a simple process really.
