What ignorant thing are you implying about middle eastern people? I wouldn't worry about the splinter in other peoples eyes, I'd worry about the log in your own eyes.

The Bible is God's written Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

2 Timothy 3:16 (New International Version)
16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

As someone who has been a Christian (tho' far from perfect) for over 35 years; Yes, I am very aware of the history of the Bible, as well as the koran, the midrash, the talmud, and the sagas of the northmen. No, I don't "lump" them altogether. But If you will study them you will see that their is a basic moralitythat agrees with the Bible in all of them. The fact that it comes from the middle east has little to do with it's applicapability to our lives.

Well, I don't know what xtians are but as a CHRISTian I will be happy to answer you.

The God I serve is the creator of the universe...that means you & me too. He loved us enough to give His Son to die as a redemption of our sins. He gave, through divine inspiration, an instruction book called the Bible so that we could understand the gift He gave (Jesus Christ,) accept the gift He gave & follow His instruction as any smart child would that of a loving parent who wants the best for his/her child.

I also believe that this same God who created everything is capable of inspiring the translators of the Bible so that you & I & everyone else could, in their own native language, understand & accept the gift of salvation.

What good would the gift be if we can't understand it or figure out how to accept it?

This has to be one of the stupidest arguments for not believing the bible I've ever read.

The population of the world began in that section of the planet. What would it matter who wrote the books that became the bible? They were inspired by God's holy spirit.

You are writing this question through your own prejudice.

so many specific prophesies came true hundreds of years later. how can that be gossip? how would anyone know exactly when the messiah would be born? and how would they know where? maybe they could guess that jesus would be killed, but how could they know not a bone would be broken? and casting lots over his clothing? it sounds like you've beenlistening to gossip yourself. you ought to educate yourself first. don't listen to what some person has made up.

Your intentional demeaning of CHRISTIANS by using an abrievated non word, is duly noted.

We believe that all scripture is God-breathed. God chose who pleased Him and those people were blessed by Him.
