I am always dumbfounded by the aggressive nature of christians. Now don't get me wrong, there are some christians that are truely beautiful souls, however, most are aggressive, ill intented, saddistic people(enjoy the affliction of pain) that hide behind the curtain of organised religeon.

I thought Jesus always tought the Golden Rule? or to turn the other cheek? Since when did Christianity begin forcing their religeon into everyones faces (condemning them for disputing opinion) and defending their own personal beliefs with forked toungues?

I sometimes feel ashamed by the ignorance... We have to grow beyond the crusades.

To be a christian means to follow Christ, be Christlike. Thats the big difference between true Christians, and those who just call themselves Christian.

It's sad but many who claim to be Christians are very offensive in their approach and try to "force-feed" others what they believe. When they don't agree, they get angry and mean. That is not what Christianity is about so somewhere along the way, they have lost the meaning.

Christianity is about treating people with love and respect and we should always be willing to share our faith with others. We should always practice the Golden Rule but few people today know what that is, even many who claim to be Christians.

But Christianity is also about taking a stand for the truth and being willing to show others the error of their ways. Many times people do that in a kind, loving way but are accused of forcing their ideas on others simply because it doesn't go along with another's belief. Some people cannot handle the truth and don't want to be told (or proven) they are wrong, even when it is presented in a nice way.

Most people today do not read their Bibles and don't have a clue what it says they should or should not do. They rely on the preacher to tell them what the Bible says and most of the time, it doesn't sink in which is evident by the daily practices of so many today.

Then you have those who are willing to sit down like adults and have a good Bible discussion without accusations or forcing thoughts on others.

Don't be discouraged. Just look for the good ones and enjoy your time with them which will end up be a very uplifting time :) God bless

"i'm not asserting that Christians under no circumstances have a nasty mindset." that's how. i like how undemanding those questions are, yet to escalate slightly: "yet truly, in case you have ever seen a minimum of a few debates between Atheists and Christians, you probable would have already observed that the former ones have the habit of insulting, taunting or giving an aggressive answer primary." So the strikes of a few a**holes degrade the gang as an entire? ok. Then i've got had some Christians be aggressive and say i'm a sinner destined for a fiery pit of unpleasantness. wager we are even.

Maybe not now, but at times there is most definitely a fray going on. Sometimes I get into it too. I think that it's a part of the whole thing, Christians need to mature just as much as anyone. So what you are probably seeing are Christians who are learning the Way. They are sometimes justified in their harsh responses. Just because an answer isn't given with feather-like touches doesn't mean they are misbehaving, sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't.

But if you want to bring out the truth, you sometimes have to speak in the language being used everyday. That's understandable to me anyway.

People have to learn, Christians are Jack A$ses too. They are just saved JackA$ses, some are well on the road to delivering the Good News, and others have to learn that the Good News is really what to focus on. They all have their varying levels of accomplishment, and all are still learning.

So don't be too harsh on Christians. We have to learn too. And don't think that we always have to be sunshine and lemonade. If you think that then you have a lot to learn as well.

The aggressive Christians that you're mentioning are not yet truly converted to Christ. They only enter religion because of traditional beliefs and other reasons without their personal confession of faith that is why they don't comprehend the true meaning of being a Christian and their responsibility of being such. However, Christians may be aggressive if their own faith is in danger for example when evil people rule in their land they should not be silent and let evil just take advantage of them. They must be aggressive in taking stand against evil but in the proper way without cursing those who oppose them.
They should make their light shine...

I wouldn't call most Christians as aggressive but for a better word zealous. There are those who are condemning which is not Christlike as judgment belongs to God. I think it is fine to defend ones faith if one is challenged. It happens with all beliefs whether they are believers in God or not. That's just human nature.

I have noted there are those who give the impression they are Christians. There are quite a few on here who pretend to be but use this site to stir up contention.

Arrogance just comes with the territory if you believe in Christ. The Bible says that those who don't believe will go to hell, and it also says that Christians should "spread the word" to non-believers. Naturally, because of these two things, Christians think they are superior to or above non-believers. They believe they have something others don't: salvation. So I'd say that arrogance and ignorance is built right into the "teachings" of the Bible.

In their defense, Christians literally don't know any better. I feel sorry for them, really. I mean, if the Bible said the moon was made of cheese, they'd believe that. If the Bible said that excrement was to be ingested, they'd believe that. Christians are just gullible that way. That's why they're Christians :)

Mr Saint,

First you speak against your brethren, are you sure you are one? Naughty boy.

Aggressive huh? Yes, I see, true love sits back and watches people just go to hell?!!! no
Persuade, convince win them to the kingdom! Right? yes

On the other hand, with all the Arminians out there; people think that they do the saving. If i just say this or just do that, they will believe! Wrong. Preach the gospel defend the truth and entrust them (thru prayer for their soul) to the Lord. Therefore people lose it. Also don't forget typing the words out and somebody with a predisposition in the mind reads them differently than it is written. Don't be too harsh!

That's why I wish we could use those smile faces things, what are they called ..........not winks...........you know. ;)

I once worked for a weekend conference of a group Christian women from all over the country and the things they said about others and they way they treated people made me say my fellow worker if there are going to be people like this in heaven I don't want to go.
Its funny when I come to the R&S section sometimes I can almost picture them writing in and being so self-righteous and judging everyone but themselves and others like them.

Perhaps you're only seeing what you're looking for. There's no real way of knowing what "most" Christians are like, because everybody has a different definition of "most" based on their own experience. You're looking for Christians who are aggressive, so you think that many of them are.

An example for you:

In your local news tonight, you may hear about a convenience store in your neighborhood that was broken into and vandalized last night. You will NOT hear about the other convenience stores in your neighborhood, the ones that are just fine, because everybody's looking for the one that's got trouble.

Maybe it's the same sort of thing with Christians: what you set out to look for, you usually find. Try looking for Christians that are peaceful, gentle, loving people. They're out there, and they're much, much closer than you think.

Just a thought.
